I came here for the first time today and it was wonderful! Our server was communicative and super kind. She had brown hair in a bun and her service was amazing! I will definitely be coming back!

I used to recommend Eastgate Family restaurant but not any more. Their prices have gone through the roof and they have instituted a charge for using a debit/credit card which is not cool. The food was okay at best and what I got was not worth the money. Only part of my meal that was good was the coffee, but for the price I paid wasn't worth it. I happened to be sitting near the restrooms...I won't comment on the smell.
My fiancé and I go there frequently lately and today we went for brunch. He got breakfast with a sweet tea and I got unlimited soup trips with a sweet tea. I only ate TWO bowls (1 normal bowl & one small bowl because all the normal bowls were dirty/not available). He paid for his own and so did I. My total was $14.29! This is at lunch time on a Monday. I had to remind them to bring out more soup on my 2nd trip back to our table because it was empty. We could have used more drink refills but I only left a tip because our waitress (Amy?) was super nice and it was only like her 2nd day. I tipped $5 making the total $19.29. I wasn’t paying attention and checked my bank account an hour ago and was charged $20.29. Not cool at all! The last 3 times we’ve went (today, a Saturday, and another previous Monday Evening) and I got soup, it’s always very watered down. One of those times was when I called and preordered a gallon of soup. That was expensive too. I asked the girl who rang our ticket about my price. She said $14.29 for 1 drink & unlimited soup trips (not salad and soup- just soup) was correct. We are unfortunately going to give up and not go back. I love eating local but not when it’s a rip off. I hate this but it’s not worth it anymore.
I love giving local businesses my patronage. They have raised their prices too high for me though. My breakfast was very good but the Eastgate special was $15.29 and that was with water. I left a $ 3.00 tip which is less than I usually give because of the price. So over $18 for breakfast without coffee. I hope they gave their employees substantial raises. Sorry but it looks like McDonald’s for me from now on. That same breakfast 3 years ago was exactly $9.00 with coffee.
I love the atmosphere and food!
