As others long ago in the 1980s was spectacular for Tex-Mex food. The kind you'd salivate the just thinking of from their menu items. Somehow all has changed to just OK. Now instead of several times a year we seem to go once to see if they've realized and tried to pull back to what once was? The service is good, ambiance is right but without the old flavor will we be back?
Excellent service! Food was fantastic, my friend and I had a great lunch!!! ❤
great street tacos and the burritos are huge
you guys did an amazing job on our to go order of street tacos, so yummy, you guys were friendly and quick as well.. Thank you!
My wife had the pork chop( very good) , and I ordered the prime rib for $32. It wasn’t worth $.32. Absolutely no taste on a dried out piece of beef. They grill their prime rib on a flat top grill- never seen that before- and it totally dried out the piece of beef. I told the waitress I would never order prime rib again. She seemed to understand. The owner should vastly improve the item or take it off the menu.
Their tacos are amazing! Highly recommend!
I’ve visited the establishment twice now. AUTHENTIC. That is all.
Always a wonderful meal. Fantastic food and very friendly service. We always feel like family when we dine here.
Wonderful family atmosphere! Excellent regular $6 Margaritas, Shrimp Ceviche, Nachos and Tacos de Asada! We will be back
We have been coming here for over 40 years and since the original owner died this place is nothing like it used to be. The food quality used to be a 10 and now it is a 1. Nothing is the same. The owner has made no bones that he has to cut the quality to save money, and boy has he ever. The prices have gone sky high. We could eat and have eaten at a Jeff Ruby restaurant for just a little more and had a fantastic meal. We only came last night because we could not at the last minute get a reservation at any of the great steak restaurants. We will not be back unless we are desperate. I can tell that the owner is putting all the money he is saving into fixing up the place but fear that he will soon have no patrons to fill it. Because it always had such a great reputation the neighborhood stills goes there but eventually that will change. We ordered a King filet because it is usually still decent. Asked for med and got rare. The waiter was no where to be found. We ate around the edges and showed the waiter what we could not eat and he did nothing for us.

It’s always great to stop by for lunch! The ceviche is always tasty! The red sangria it always hits the spot. I keep coming, can’t stop!
$5 margaritas during lunch! The arroz con pollo and chicken enchiladas was delicious
Disappointed. Dinner for three nearing $100 after tip. No appetizer. No alcohol. No steaks. No dessert. Service was good. Side salads were good. Wedge (as one review I read had noted) had far too much dressing. One meal was deemed delicious - chicken and waffles. Mine was pretty good - stuffed peppers. The third was considered okay - seafood enchiladas. Found a hair in the rice of one of the meals. Mentioned it to the server. She did apologize, but that was it. Doubt I'll be back without gift cards.
I was never a huge fan of El Coyote, but friends persuaded me to join them for dinner last weekend. It was never very good, but last weekend it served me possibly the worst restaurant meal that I have ever eaten. The complimentary chips and salsa were the best part of the meal, sadly, even though the salsa was watery with no bite. We bought guacamole to go with the salsa, and it was absolutely tasteless. Both my wife and I ordered chicken burritos which like most of their entrees, comes with two side dishes. My wife's refried beans were tasty, she tells me. Everything else was horrible. My side salad consisted of wilted lettuce, onions, and tasteless cherry tomatoes, and the side of green beans was inedible. But the worst were the burritos which allegedly were served with Jack cheese, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and either sour cream or guacamole. Our burritos had none of those things, consisting solely of overcooked, dried out, tasteless chicken, in a burrito. In the time of covid, we ate outside. But our "masked" waiter, along with other waiters I noticed, seemed to believe that the mask shouldn't cover the nose. I also watched the staff "sanitize" tables after diners left, and the sanitizing consisted of slopping something out of a bucket across the table without ever touching the chairs. I have learned my lesson the hard way. Don't make the same mistake.
Outdoor dining area is very spacious and clean. Family friendly atmosphere. Waiters are friendly and the menu offers great options.
