The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Cod fish with fries... the cornbread is the best.

We had a delectable meal at Hometown Roots last night! I had the shrimp civeche with their homemade chips. The shrimp dish was so refreshing and I loved the herbs added to it. Our server was the BEST! He was a jolly guy with a beaming personality and kept our drinks filled, and attended to our every need! I wish I had asked him his name. (We told him about a different restaurant and the bad experience we had there)
My husband and I took the key lime dessert home. It was a very special dessert! I’ve never had any key lime dessert that was this great! The attention to detail on the dessert was impressive. Even the mint leaf had edible gold on it. Simply amazing!! Hometown Roots, you have it all!!

Some of the best food in the TriState area. Rotating specials offer something for everyone. However, in addition to great food, they have my mother's favorite waitress/server on the planet! Allison Moore is amazing at making you feel welcome and cared about. She goes above and beyond in her job performance and is accommodating and accurate with dine in as well as carryout orders. She keeps us coming back time after time. Do yourself a favor and not just dine at Hometown Roots but ask that Allison Moore is your server.
A wonderful team and the food is a dream!!!
Came across the bridge to try this place. Service, food and atmosphere were top tier. Food wait time was a bit long, but it was a packed house. I had the salmon, mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole. Casserole was not to my liking, but other than that the food was great. My date had the Catfish with red beans and rice 🔥🔥🔥 will be back to try the shrimp and grits!! Oh and my drinkkks🔥🔥 was not on the menu but requested by our waitress. I give this place 7/10

Ordered Chicken and Waffles and a Cuban Sandwich. The Chicken and Waffles was COVERED in hot sauce and was not edible after a couple of bites. The Cuban sandwich was extremely skimpy, which was a common complaint we found out about after we left. The server did offer to replace the Chicken and Waffles, but by then taste buds were shot. A manager (don't know because he never introduced himself) came up to us when we were about to leave and told us that we should order dessert. We told him about our experience. He had nothing to say about the Cuban and explained that a lot of people like the Chicken and Waffles. The Chicken and Waffles did include a small side of maple syrup, but once again they were COVERED in hot sauce. I love hot sauce, but the entree was way over the top hot! Even though there was an offer by the server to replace the chicken and waffles, a discount or free dessert was never mentioned by the server or the unknown stranger who approached us.

My wife had the meatloaf, salad and Brussel sprouts. I had, I believe it was called Roast Beef Manhatten (pic included). Dinners are served with jalapeño corn bread in a hot pan. Salad ingredients are super fresh and you can tell. Our waitress was very helpful in recommending dinner options and explaining the menu. Most dinner options are between $15 and $25.

The food was good. However, it was served nearly cold. The restaurant was ridiculously dim and was not heated very well. You can't see your menu without a flashlight. The server was outstanding.
