The food was really good. Just what I have been wanting..the fried cornbread..meatloaf..mashed potatoes and home made desserts were outstanding. Can't believe this was my first visit. Will definitely be back.

On February 14th 2024, Valentines Day, my family of 4 walked into Tonya's Buffet at around 6:50pm we had no idea it closed in 10 minutes. We were literally just looking for a place to eat as a family on Valentines day. After multiple failed attempts at other restaurants due to reservations and long wait times, we found ourselves in a booth at Tonya's. I quickly realize that they were in the middle of cleaning up and customers were starting to leave. I tell the lady I had no idea they were in the middle of closing and offered to pay for my drinks and leave. She refused to let me go, told me to have a seat. As they're preparing my food I offer again to have them just put the food in a to go box and we'd take it home, again she refused to let me leave and said it wasn't no bother to them. I felt really bad at this point and would totally understand if the food came out half cooked. It didn't though, I'm a man who takes a lot of pride in the way I cook my own steak, but this ribeye my wife and I got tonight was cooked for a king. It was so good along with the potato, salad and desserts everything was made to perfection. I left a generous tip to all of the employees working late just for my family. They were satisfied with it but I don't feel it was enough. My hopes with this review to shed some light on this little hole in the wall restaurant and commend them on their service and food. Please go try them out.Thank you to all of the staff that stayed open an extra hour so my family and I could have a Valentines day dinner.

The food is really good tasting, the place is not fancy by any means. What is needed is more diners. An the place badly needs someone to put light bulbs in.

Went there but couldn't eat smelled terrible and old and watery I do not recommend if coming to Lawrenceburg.

My wife and I came here for the first time and were completely satisfied with our breakfast orders. The buffet was a bit small, so we ordered off the menu. My wife had the biscuits and gravy and I had the western omelet. Both were outstanding, including the potatoes. My coffee was good as well. I just wish there was a bigger buffet. It just appeared to have salad, desert, and side dish offerings, which was disappointing for a buffet fanatic like me. Maybe it's just meant to be added to an order-I'm not sure. Other than that and the unsettling amount of burned out light bulbs, this is homestyle cooking at its best.

Food was delicious. Would have given 5 stars, but hamburgers were unavailable on this particular day.

Only reason you got a four on your atmosphere is because well you just get your food and go though. The waiting area is nice but the hot dogs and the burgers are exactly what I want

Drive an hour because we were told they would have catfish. Had old fish on bar before would fry fresh. Food in bar was old. Customer service was pathetic. Won't be going back.

Service is non-existent, and the food is below subpar.

As I journeyed through Kentucky I had one thing on my mind, Southern cooking. I like Southern food, and I like a lot of it. My google search for "Southern food buffet near me" lead me to this little spot tucked away in the corner of a strip mall.Have you ever walked into a diner and just knew? You knew it was going to be great? And you knew it was going to be great because it was not the super sanitized "meets every code" fast-food joint we're familiar with today, but a good old, down home cookin' dive? Shoes stick to the floor, and elbows to the table. Crumbs have to be brushed off from the last guest. Most lights not working. Buffet with no lights on it. Ceiling tiles holding on for dear life. It screamed great food from the second we walked in. I miss places like this.My Southern food expectations were met, no, they were exceeded. Large fried fish fillets so crispy and delicious. No muddy river taste at all! Fried shrimp that were tail-less, crispy and that couldn't wait to get in my mouth. Greens that were the best I have ever had, no exaggeration. I love greens and I've never had better. A unique version of stewed tomatoes that will blow your mind. They were sweet instead of savory, and oh so good. Green beans. Soggy apples. Mashed...either turnips or potatoes, I couldn't tell. It didn't matter, because they went down fast and no apologies. Candied carrots. Mac-n-cheese like none I've ever had. Forget the ooey-gooey-pastey kind usually found at buffets, I spooned macaroni out of a liquid cheese that was delicious and not overwhelming. Beans and bacon. Corn bread fritters (I don't know, I ate them like bread and they were incredible). Corn pudding. Who knows what I'm forgetting. A salad bar I completely neglected. Then, the innumerable desserts. A spread like I've never seen.As far as the service? Excellent. The waitress kept our drinks filled and answered every question we had. All of the staff was friendly and made you feel at home.I hope I'm back in the area again because I will be back at Tonya's without a doubt. Thank you for the great meal.

Went here for a birthday lunch/dinner. Food was mediocre with no particular flavor. I ordered the breakfast and the pancake was ok. The Sausage left something to be desired. Even though eggs were listed, I never received them.Next, I tried the dinner buffet and nothing stood out. Mac and cheese was horrible and runny, greens were ok, fried chicken was just there and sweet potatoes were mashed with no seasoning.Overall this is not what I think of as southern cooking. Also forgot to mention that the place was extremely cold and lighting was so dim that you couldn’t see some of the parts of the restaurant.Improvements must be made.Won’t be returning anytime soon.
