We had a GREAT dining experience. Melissa, the head chef spent time with us, explaining her amazing cooking! The ambiance is terrific. The staff is friendly and welcoming. This whole place is filled with laughter, love, and quality food.

Terrific experience! Server was fabulous and elevate our dinner to an experience. Loved the brie app and each of our entrees were wonderful, including butternut ravioli (small portion as it should be). Walnut salad was delicious and the apple dessert was the perfect ending to a great and 1st experience here.

Ravioli shouldn't be crunchy unless it's fried. Zucchini chips should be crispy. The wine list was great and the prices were reasonable.

We travel through the Lexington KY area a couple times a year. This was our second trip to 33 Staves. The food is quite good. Presentation, and service are fantastic. My only critic from this last visit was that they had a feature substitution for the Salmon dish I was craving. But the substitution was a blackened salmon and it was pretty darn good too. The wait staff is super polite and very professional. Our server this time was Eric and he was a pleasure. I will most likely make this a must on every future visit. The whole menu looks fantastic and I'll probably work my way through it eventually. This trip I tried their take on a watermelon salad. Not the way I'm used to, and not how id make it, but it was very good. Im definitely adding candied jalapeños to my personal watermelon salad recipe. My wife and I always enjoy our meals here. They also have a very well stocked bar with lots of tasty options.

This place needs a change. The reviews are right. Service is terrible and so is the food. No one seems to care.

Atmosphere was nice. Food, drinks and service were just OK. Nice server, but seemed inexperienced. Weirdly, much on the menu was either not available, or made differently than published. Drink prices were ridiculous for the quality of the restaurant - high wine by the glass than far better establishments. Meals were mediocre .

Decided to try some place new and was highly disappointed all around. The server didn't seem to be able to answer really any of our questions. 4 of us total and one other table in the entire place and it took over 45 mins to receive our food! My husband said his burger wasn't even hot. My shrimp and grits had an entire bottle of hot sauce poured on the top. It was so hot I couldn't even eat it. The ham was dry in it as well. Another person in our party said their food was just ok. The server never came back to even check on us after delivering food other than to give us the check! We had to get silverware off another table bc we didn't even have any. Drinks we ordered were just ok. All around just disappointing experience.

We didn't realize it was the hotel's restaurant - however, everything was yummy and it was nice to sit outside for a morning meal.

The atmosphere is very inviting. Some food was good (the Strawberry Salad). The Shrimp & Grits came swimming in two inches of orange oil punctuated with an overabundance of tart lemon and little else. The grit cake simply acting as a sponge for the abundance of oil it was completely submerged beneath. The twin filet medallions were not filets. I'm not sure what cut they were but they were not filets. Dry, tough and served with discs of herb butter that wouldn't melt because the medallions were room temperature at best. Potential given the decor and atmosphere but unrealized because of the food quality. It was NOT busy.

We stopped in to have dinner after a day at the vineyard. The food was delicious! The service was great! What a fun day!

Gross - the server assigned to us had pet hair all over her shirt and it was falling off of her as she would walk by. We left before getting food as we didn’t want any of that in our meal. The hostess was also rude and took 5 minutes to help us even though the restaurant was basically empty.

The menu was innovative - there were unique items but they also had some tried and true items. Everyone was able to find something to their taste. It did get a bit loud; the acoustics weren't the best. All in all, one of the better meals we've had in Lexington in a while.

I think things have changed in Lexington when it comes to service after the pandemic. When we arrived tge hostess told us to sit “wherever” Our meals at Staves were okay. My fried chicken was unsalted but fair with the sides. No salt shakers on table. My dining companion had the lamb chops. They were good but sides were not. My collard greens were not hot at all. The cornbread appetizer with jams and the salads were very good here and are to be recommended. The server did not give us silverware so we had to grab from another table. Drinks were replenished, but nobody checked on our meals after the food was served. At the end of the meal, the server asked if we wanted our check and though I'd have preferred dessert, none was offered. Check comes and we were left with plates in front of us. Nobody bothered to clear them. I paid, left 20% in cash and we left. For an $80 meal in, dooryard to say this, unsophisticated Lexington, Kentucky, I expected more. I can't decide if Staves merits another visit.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a visit to 33staves this week. The atmosphere was so relaxing and food/cocktails were delicious. A big thank you to Ginger, our bar master of perfection. We enjoyed the special cocktails from her little black book of recipes...what a treat for the taste buds. Her energy and vibe was amazing. Great evening ....can't wait to return!!!

This place is a sauna. Extremely hot inside. The weather was 88 degrees outside and it felt better than inside the building. We were sweating so much we had to go to the bathroom to take breaks from the heat. It was extremely difficult to spend time with our loved ones in this environment. The bartender also didn’t know what a Moscow mule was. The server was very nice however she had a hard time hearing us over the loud music and seemed very confused when she was distributing the receipts. The food was okay but not great and not exactly worth all the headache. We would’ve gladly paid more for a better overall experience.
