Had a bad atmosphere in general, didnt feel welcomed by the staff. The bathrooms and building were run down/unclean.

Awful experience. Bartender / owners are VERY rude. Place smells awful, what a dive bar. STAY AWAY from this gross place. Not clean at all, every table smelled like weed and was covered in sticky drinks, bubble gum and trash.

This place sucks all around
Disrespected my friend in the Army by the bouncer not letting him in because he didn’t answer correctly on what his “favorite type of deep dish pizza was. The manager himself came over and knocked out drinks down and pushed us out! It was insane! Henry Clays is childish and genuinely the worst time you could have in Lexington.

Great Bartender. Also I left my wallet on the bar and it was there the next day when I went back to look

Atmosphere was great but personally I was off put by them not having a menu, and when I drew a blank on what to order so did the bartender. He ended up asking if we liked cosmos which was fun but didn’t seem to fit the vibe of the bar? Didn’t say anything like “oh we make a great (insert signature Henry Clay/kentucky inspired here)”. Just thought it was crazy to not have a menu and also not be prepared for people not knowing what to order, especially young people who aren’t familiar with cocktails

Cosmos were amazing, fire cozy and the complimentary popcorn served by the sexy older man didn’t hurt! 😉

Visited on a Thursday night while traveling with my son as he toured UKs Law School. An incredibly welcoming place where you can tell people enjoy each other's company. The owner made us feel appreciated and was a tremendous conversationalist. A lot of fun. You won't regret stopping. I look forward to another visit.

My favorite spot in town! Great place to grab a drink and chill. Warm atmosphere and great acoustics! Thursdays are karaoke night and they frequently have live bands on Fridays and Saturdays.

I’ll say that I had a good time, but I did notice someone from security confront a girl and make them show their ID to prove she was female, just really inappropriate and I won’t be back again because of that :/

Bouncers watched my friend get smacked by a patron and the proceeded to kick him out after he asked why. His girlfriend asked why and she proceeded to get her hair pulled and thrown out by a patron. Bouncers apologized but still told us to leave. Please go somewhere else that is not downtown

The staff there including the bar owner Richard is fake and realize your face they put on a front to get you to spend money and then once you spend your money they push you write out the door they act like they have your back and confrontations but they don't the moment that an issue acquires not bothering if it's your fault or the other person's they push you right out the door and then they banned you for no reason their drinks are awful the band sucks and the bar is steadily going under Richard the owner of Henry Clay's likes to bring people in call them family just so he could use them he used me for many many months knowing that I had a college degree in master's degree in music brought me in said that I was part of the family had me work there for free refused to pay me all because he knew that I knew my way around the stage proceeded to promise me a spot on the stage to perform knowing that I was trying to succeed as a musician but instead of honoring his promise he proceeded to use me for free labor do not recommend going to this bar it is definitely a one out of 10 for me can't wait to see Henry Clay's close their doors
