Bartender was nice. Good beer selection. Food service was really slow for being one of about 8 people in the place. Then my sandwich came out without the sauce that had been hyped. Bartender fixed it finally. Fries were over seasoned but good.
Generally quite happy with HopCat. The beer menu is large and always reliable. The food can be a little more uneven, and does tend towards high calorie fried foods, but the nice thing about high calorie fries foods is that they taste good. My only complaint regards the Crack Fries, which really aren’t good enough to justify the comparison to crack.
The food here is better than most bar food. There is a nice selection of items and their fries are truly amazing. There is a great selection of on-tap beers and other alcohols. It is a spacious location in Victorian Square. It's a great place to meet a large group. With its proximity to the arena and convention center, it can get quite busy on game days and concert nights.
