To the owner- you better fire every employee and start over. What happened to the McCarthy’s I loved? Smart-ass 18 yr old boy at the door, filthy interior, rude Latino bartender, no one drinking, underage college girls. Stayed 3 minutes and left. How embarrassing. Went to The Jockey who has excellent food, pleasant employees, racing on the screens, clean interior and legit Irish tending the bar and serving drinks with a smile. Maybe McCarthy’s should be a cantina instead.

The best Irish bar in Lexington, according to customers. It's a place where you'll find college students, recent graduates, middle-aged people, and older folks - a place for everyone. The staff knows how to pour a genuine Guinness. The pub also features a nice patio in the back, with a half-bar that customers find super convenient. The patio is smoking-friendly and nicely decorated with open air. While the food is better than most bar food in the area, the pub does not serve food at all times.
