I love Old School Coffee! One of my favorite coffee shops in Lex. The drinks and sweet treats always taste delicious and the employees are always incredibly kind, attentive, and sociable.

visiting from out of town to meet a friend and chose this place because i read a review that they were dog friendly. i was able to bring my senior pup in and got a delicious lavender latte. it appears the building used to be a school, but now different businesses are inside. there is seating inside the coffee shop itself, and some tables scattered out in the hallways. staff was friendly, i’d return.

This is such a solid coffee shop in Lexington! The theme is amazing. The original location is an old school so a lot of the decorations feel like an old schoolhouse, such as bells, chalkboards, etc. A lot of the drinks and food are named after school things, like “The Counselor” or “The Teacher”.

The coffee is pretty good and there are great tea options as well, along with pastries. I really like the flavor options and their seasonal options. I will say that it’s probably not my favorite coffee out there, but the theme and flavors make it really stand out and it’s such a nice cozy spot to visit.

I love the service. The employees are very great, quick, helpful, and friendly. I’ve never had any bad experiences here! It is a very popular place so it can get pretty packed sometimes and the line can be a bit long, but they do their best to manage it!!

Atmosphere-wise, as you can tell, I love this place! Again, as I said, it can get pretty packed, so it is hard to come by an open table to sit at. I would be prepared that you might not actually have a place to sit and get work done and you might actually have to just take your coffee to go somewhere else. Hopefully, if you plan in advance to get there at an off-time or really early, you can get a spot! Obviously, due to the historical location, they can’t really expand, but maybe a few more tables added in the lobby area could be helpful!

Old School Coffee is my absolute favorite coffee shop in KY. The staff is absolutely wonderful, the coffee is delicious, and the vibes are immaculate. This place truly feels like home! When I was in college at UK, I loved coming here for a few hours to study, and now I love going any time I'm in town to see my favorite baristas and do the NYT puzzles with my fiancé (we actually got engaged here! :) <3)

Great food, great coffee. But if you want a seat, get there early or try to find out there down time.

Cool atmosphere in the historic building. Coffee seemed about like anywhere else, which isn't to say anything bad about it.

I am fond of coming here. As a student from UK, it was a great place to share a coffee with people from on and off-campus, fellow students, dates, and others. I have come here dozens of times and enjoyed the experience.

The service is polite and unobtrusive, the food and coffee are quality.

The atmosphere is an old house downtown, which is lovely, and has other shops and attractions in it and nearby to enjoy.

This was amazing coffee and pastries in a historic actual old school! In our visit to Lexington we went three times, twice in one day! Oh myyyyy the pimento scone biscuit thing, I’m in love. And they had a gourmet oatmeal pie from a local company, we just kept buying them! The drinks are fabulous, we tried the “The Principal” and “The Teacher” plus later on one afternoon we tried a refresher type drink that delicious on a hot day. Service was impeccable and friendly. We’ll revisit Old School every trip!
