We absolutely loved our experience at Joe Bologna’s! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with stunning stained glass windows that beautifully showcase the charm of the historic church setting. They were incredibly accommodating to our group of 10, which we truly appreciated. Based on the reviews, Joe Bologna's Restaurant is a long-standing Lexington establishment where many guests have been dining for over 30 years. The food and service is often described as the best and absolutely amazing. The banana peppers and dipping sauce are a stand out and the best ever. The bread sticks are a must have, described as to die for, and the garlic butter on the bread is very good. The manicotti is the best ever, and the lasagna makes you want to slap your mother. The salad is amazing. However, some recent experiences have been mixed. One group noted the food is not as good as in the past, with a dried out pizza and a long wait due to the upstairs not being staffed for larger groups. A first-time visitor found the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and broccoli just okay, lacking alfredo flavor, though the sauce on the chicken parm was really good. The eggplant sub had huge slices of lightly fried eggplant and was still good. Service can be fast and efficient, with kind staff who even found a seat near an outlet for a guest. Prices are considered a bit steep at $25 per meal, and parking downtown on a Friday night is abysmal.
