can't even call it slow. they lost our order. sat there for over 30 minutes before we had to go ask. just left after that. might be good, but we'll never know.
Great food and great service every time!
Waited 10-15 minutes to order. Waited another 20 minutes and never received my food. Cars that arrived after me had orders taken before me and also received their food.
This is our annual lunch stop when we travel from Chicago to Tennessee to see my parents. The fried chicken is absolutely great. Add the coleslaw which is delicious, the home made ranch to dip fries into… the fact that Billie Jean has been our server for many of these trips and that we now say “see you next year”! Great food, great people, and a nod to simpler days makes this a perfect spot.
My wife and I went to Parkette last evening with our 17 month old grandson. We have always had good service and good food at Parkette. But we went in and got our seats inside the main part and waited for someone to help us. I'm not sure how long the couple next to us had been there, but they finally left. After 10 more minutes, another couple had to go find someone to come take their order. At that point, they still didn't ask us even for our drink order. I refuse to go ask someone to serve us. That's their job. After 30 minutes, we left without anyone even acknowledging we were there. How sad that this once nice historic eatery can not provide good service for their customers.
Awesome food and a great atmosphere! Hand spun shakes, fried chicken, chili cheese dogs and hamburgers! Fifties Diner atmosphere!!Be sure to ask for Billie Jean she was a high energy, attentive, waitress! Can’t wait to go back!
Service slow but glad to have service.speaker stacticy but adds to its existence.Food is so good.Burger was cold but still tasted good. All other food hot.Chili on hot dog was best I have had. Thanks for still being around.Worth the drive.
Stopped in while traveling for work, I like checking out local places. 1 word, PHENOMENAL. Inside is amazing, prices are fantastic, and order anything Billie Jean recommends, even if you have to take it home (although she advises to be careful if wearing white shirts, which we were). Absolutely plan on coming back next time in town
Old school diner vibe, countertop service, or drive up. We ate at the counter, which was clean and pleasantly retro. Server was very friendly. Burgers were all good, sides were terrible. Oh good lord, those fries should be banned. They were either freezer burnt or baked… but they were such a damper on the whole burger and fries vibe. Milkshakes were freshly spun. Maybe we visited on an off day.
Came here cause we love diners and try to find “local flavors” when we travel. Saw many TV foodies visited and decided to try. Not at all worth the hype. I’ve had better quality burgers from high school football concession stands. Hard bun, cheap meat, generic fries, dry fried chicken… Tots (generic) were the best part of the 3 meals we ordered. Felt ripped off, left hungry.

If your looking for a place that stood still in time then this is the place for you. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel right at home.
food was hot it was great tasting not dripping in grease, service was fifteen minutes wait so we liked that,
I used takeout as going in the main restaurant is so old like u would expect, BUT the paneled ceiling is a disgrace....im afraid things are going to fall out n land in my food. So I'll never go in there again....the garage does look good, great idea.........yes it's old, but please keep the ICONIC SIGN lighted ( when it's out, it looks like no one is home ?)!!!!!.. It can still be nostalgic, just keep up w the times, n operational and Clean.. I'm sure you'll have more business if you take care of it.
We were on our way from Michigan to Florida and stopped because it was on diners drive-ins and dives. Thankfully it wasn’t too far off the highway because it really was a waste of time. We sat down and a server came to ask what we wanted to drink. We said two waters and a chocolate shake. Then another server came to take our order. We ordered 2 chili cheese dogs and a large order of onion rings. We asked about the shake and the first person must not have told the real server about the shake. She added it to the order. A short time later a third person came out with our food order, but still no shake. She said she’d be right out with it. We both ate 90% of the barely warm, cheese not melted hot dog when the second person looked our way and said, Oh, your shake! We said don’t bother as we were finished with our meal. Then a fourth person brought the shake and when we said it was too late, she gave it to a table of what looked to be regulars. The “real” server came with the Bill. $13.49. I tried to explain why I sent the shake back. She immediately turned and walked away, ignoring us. I put down $14.00 and when she came back, she asked if we needed change. I said no, but still think the 0.51 tip was generous! Definitely not recommended!
My family enjoyed lunch here on January 13. The server was friendly and funny. They were very short staffed and busy. Instead of acting grumpy and annoyed, she had a really good attitude and sense of humor about the situation and kept everyone laughing. The food was good, as always, but it was the refreshing attitude that was the real treat. Thanks for a good meal and the funny take on staff shortages.
