Asked for a recommendation by the person taking orders and the response was "the "..$" one. Definitely took the meaning out of a recommendation and made it about money. Super appreciated.
Gave them another chance after they served us raw dough at the grey line location...never again. The cheese slice is bread, sauce, and dusted Parmesan.

Rise Up Pizza makes it into the top pizza places we've ever been to. It sits up there with pizzas from Boston, New York, Chicago, and Detroit. The Bee Sting pizza is to die for. They switched up their style to follow more of the Detroit style but it is still just as amazing if not better than before. Great service, great food, and you can wait for pizza while sitting at the bar in Horse and Jockey having a beer and they'll bring your pizza over when it's ready.

Very good pizza! Loved their Margherita pizza! Little over priced though.

Me and my husband were blown away by how good this pizza was! The sourdough crust really makes it have a unique taste. It was a little confusing to find the restaurant but it’s actually inside the Horse & Jockey pub towards the back of the building. I can’t wait to go back!

Oh my, this pizza was incredible! The crust, the toppings and the aroma. We had the Fornax, red onion, Pancetta with a Nduja sauce with basil! ?. Can’t wait to come back and try others. Pizza Week for the win!

So the Fat Man and his wife wanted to have a date night, we felt like getting a little dressed up. So we ventured out to Jeff Ruby's in downtown Lexington, KY. Jeff Ruby's offers prime steak cuts, sushi & a vast choice of whiskeys in an upscale dining space with chandeliers. For our appetizer we tried the Oysters Rockefeller which comes with Spinach, Mornay, Parmigiano-Reggiano, 19 Pernod. The oysters offered good flavor in every bite, and were cooked through with a slight chew. The spinach and cheese compliment the oyster with a little salt and creaminess to the bite. The licorice flavor of the pernod is very subtle but added a dryness to the salty bite. For my entrée, I went with the Barrel-Cut filet with Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts and a bourbon peppercorn sauce. The steak was cooked to a great rare, perfectly red in the center. It had a good salt level with a great outer crust. It was tender and juicy, the peppercorn sauce is very peppery on the front and backend with a heavy saltiness and good flavor, it reminds me of a gravy. The Mac n cheese noodles were overcooked, and the cheese sauce tasted like it had broken, leaving it gritty. However, the cheesy crust on the top is great with a crunch when digging into it. The Brussels are fantastic, they are cooked tender with a good sweet maple sauce, that is not overly sweet. My wife had the Bourbon filet with cheddar grits and Bourbon garlic shrimp. The grits have a good cheddar taste, but they were a little watery for my liking. The shrimp is cooked perfectly with good flavor, and they were of good size. Her steak was cooked perfectly to a medium rare, and it was tender and juicy. Jeff Ruby's has a full bar, beer and wine selection. The staff was very attentive and well-informed of the menu. I highly recommend a reservation. The Fat Man says that Jeff Ruby's is Fat Man Approved with 3 chins.

We were seated at a high top table in the piano bar area which was last available when we made reservations. The volume of the singer and piano was deafening. No one, including servers, could speak to be heard. Ridiculous. Next up: My salmon was visibility over cooked and tasted like it was going bad. The refire was even worse as it was undercooked and raw in the center. I refused the further attempt to have any other substitution and of course was not charged. My friend’s meal charge was also removed and manager did apologize, which was appreciated. This was my friend’s 3rd negative experience in a row at this location which pretty much means we are out. A shame because it is a beautiful restaurant and I know they can do better.

The guy was serving pizza with his bare hands, couldn't even bother to put on gloves. In addition, the thick crust pizza by the slice he served was burnt, and there was a hair in there as well. This happened during the afternoon of 9/9/23.
