Here at 12pm on a Tuesday. They literally have a sign posted that says "Winter hours Mon-Sat 11am-6pm". However the doors are locked and there is not a single employee here.

They are a bunch of jerks. I live out of town and I was wanting to call them to see if they were open because every time I've tried to stop there, they've been closed - even though their hours say that they are open. And they will not "answer" their phone - they just keep hanging up, and hanging up, and hanging up. I guess the constant hang-ups are their answers?

So, my review... do not even give this place business. They do not deserve it.

Giving one star based on... impression from stopping by during their claimed open hours but no one was there. Also for the fact that I cannot try their food, even though I have stopped by multiple times while in town because it always sounded good. And their lack of professionalism for repeatedly hanging up on guests.

And one star for... The atmosphere because they clearly do not have one and what they state is not factual.

Not reviewing the food since I've had zero success in actually trying it.

Huge disappointment thus far.

Give your business to Freddy's. They have excellent hotdogs. Or any other restaurant in Lexington if you choose to vacate the idea of a hotdog.

Sam’s Hot Dog Stand was AMAZING! I took my friend there after she got back to America and she was craving a good all American dog. And Sam’s succeeded! Very successful trip. Thank you Sam’s Hot Dog Stand!

Best dogs in Lex. Only issue is I never really know when they’re open. Aggravating when I look forward to it and have to turn away because they’re closed during open hours.

I love this hotdog stand! The staff is very vibe and considerate and they make you feel welcome! They have a beef dog, veggie, and a turkey! I got the #2 which comes with two dogs with whatever toppings you like! This was delicious, filling, and a savory taste of americas past time! The restrooms were also very clean, and so was the dining area. This is the sams! I recommend the beef hotdog with onions, sauerkraut, and mustard! I also had a beef dog with beer cheese and ketchup! Super good!

Vegetarian options: They have a veggie dog that you can put any veggie toppings on, as well as potato salad, coleslaw, and chips. For a small stand it is very inclusive.

Dietary restrictions: Turkey dogs, veggie dogs, anything you need!

Kid-friendliness: All kids love hotdogs! They also have cake pops available! There is also some kid friendly drinks like juice, and yahoo!

We love Sam’s hot dog stand every day but today was especially awesome! They were out of vegetarian hot dogs and the manager ran(literally) to the store and got more so me and my kids could have them. He also gave us brownies for waiting. Seriously above and beyond customer service on top of being delicious!!

Think back to when you were little … you just won your first little league game and your dad takes you out for hotdogs and some chips and a drink to celebrate. This place feels JUST like that to me. Very kind people good quick food and atmosphere brings be back to being my childhood self ?
