Maybe I had too much expectations. I flew from California just to eat at this Edward Lee's restaurant- it was one of my bucket lists. Food was ok. Between two of us, we shared all dishes. Everything was ok, not outstanding. The snapper had no flavor but lamb chops were perfectly cooked. Desserts were mediocre. I ordered a decaf coffee with the desserts and it came cold😰. The bread and butter were excellent. Overall, I was a bit disappointed.
The meal started out great with a bacon infused amuse bouche, but unfortunately that was the best bite of the evening. Nothing else that hit the table came close to matching that same intense care and flavor. My wife and I left feeling rather disappointed.
Incredible service and an enjoyable environment to have this experience in. It could have felt pretentious but carried nothing close to that feeling. Intentional, thoughtful and genuinely kind service with exceptional wine pairings. I would absolutely do it again, complete with the wine pairing.
