Maybe we went at the wrong time, but there was no ambiance and the whole place was dark and smelled funny.
Half the menu is 20oz for typical draft prices... Great decision! It helps those beers taste great and are less filling, if you're old enough you know the reference.
Huge bonus, price and volume on the menu, no surprises when you drink 5 or 6 beers.
What a gorgeous find this was. I was only planning to stop by after dinner for a quick check on what they had. Ended up staying for a couple of beers and made intriguing conversation with both the bartender and the two customers already inside. Prices were also very good compared to the local competition. Thoroughly recommend this place
A Flight Worth Taking, Again and Again
Five Stars, A Masterclass in Flavor, Balance, and Atmosphere
Some breweries simply serve drinks, others create an experience. Akasha Brewing Company belongs to the latter, offering not just quality brews but a setting where people gather, laugh, and settle in for something memorable. This is a place that understands its purpose, blending craftsmanship with atmosphere, turning casual visits into something far more lasting.
The value is evident the moment you order a flight, or two, as you should. Flights here are more than a sampling tool, they are a clever way to experience range, contrast, and harmony in one sitting. Every selection has intention behind it, every pour contributes to the full picture.
Measured by any intelligent standard, there are three metrics that define a brewery’s merit, flavor complexity, ingredient integrity, and balance across the menu. Akasha excels in all three.
Flavor complexity unfolds gradually. Lighter beers are crisp without being hollow, hop-forward selections strike a balance between vibrant and refined, while the deeper, malt-driven brews arrive with richness and smooth finishes that never cross into heaviness. Each beer plays a distinct role, building on the last, keeping the experience fresh from first sip to last drop.
Ingredient integrity is undeniable. The hops are clean and aromatic, elevating each pour without tipping into bitterness for the sake of it. The malts provide a steady foundation, delivering depth without the unwelcome weight that lesser brews so often suffer. There is clarity in each flavor profile, a sense that every ingredient has been chosen with care and executed with discipline.
Balance is the defining thread. There are no outliers, no novelty brews tossed in to pad the numbers. The tap list flows with intention, offering both contrast and cohesion, allowing you to chart your own path through the flight without a single misstep. It is a rare thing to find such range without a single weak link.
Akasha is not just a place for tasting, it is a place for staying. The open, welcoming environment encourages conversation, the presence of games invites a sense of play, and the overall atmosphere leans toward the unpretentious comfort that keeps people around longer than they planned. It is as much a social hub as it is a showcase of brewing craft.
A flight at Akasha Brewing Company is more than an order, it is a low-risk, high-reward investment in quality, variety, and genuine enjoyment. A place where you come for the drink, stay for the company, and leave with the thought that the next visit will be just as rewarding as the last.
Def a flight worth taking, again and again LOL
I enjoyed the time I spent at Akasha trying some of their beers. Both the bartender and the customers seemed really welcoming and friendly, and I had a few interesting conversations with them. The beers I tried were all sours, and they were delicious. The beer quality seemed high, and there were no off flavors. The gose and peach chiffon sour were very tasty, and I’d love to try their other beers someday. Next time I visit Louisville I’ll have to stop by again.
My friend and I stopped in on a Saturday right as they opened. Nick was our bartender and he was so friendly and helpful! Also Roxy is the best cat and she is adorable!
Cool chill place, awesome staff, true-to-style beers.
Great beer 🍺, nice relaxing atmosphere
Good selection of craft beers especially some German beers. However, no food, smelled like dog inside. Noticed immediately when entering yet no dogs were present. Decor was cheap. Only one small tv in corner. This place could Be so much better. Disappointed.
Came in on a slow night and Tee was awesome. She chatted with us and was so fun and kind. Thanks Tee!

Friendly staff, great environment. They have a beer with a portion of the proceeds helping NC after hurrican Milton. They pay for parking! Just go inside and talk to the bartender!
Great eclectic and historic tap selection! History buff for a bartender is an added bonus! Lots of space, clean bathrooms, board games, outdoor seating, and much more!
Stopped in last week while visiting Louisville and was quite disappointed to find only three of their beers left on tap. Huge tap system and other reviewers shared photos of a large tap list, but it seemed like they were on the verge of closing. I did some research and saw photos of their event in March thinking that’s where all their beer went, but the photos then only had four beers listed. We had two pours but couldn’t get invested enough to stick around. Hopefully they brew more so we can visit again next time we are in Louisville and have more options to choose from.
Love this local pub. Last visit had fewer taps than I would like to see, but the fridge collection of Belgian beers was very respectable. The brewed beer here is delish, from the several I have had. Calling out the saison a year or two ago. Board games and a local feel. Highly recommend.
