Our favorite Thai in Louisville, this family run restaurant in front of the Glenmary community has many great menu options to choose from. My favorite entrees are Jalapeno Beef, Drunken Noodle Beef, and Sweet snd Sour Chicken. My wife loves both the chicken and vegetarian versions of Pad Thai. Several nice curry options are also offerred. The chicken satay, pork dumplings and spring rolls are all great appetizers. Not on the menu but also available are fresh "summer rolls": lettuce, shrimp, pork and rice noodles wrapped in rice paper. And when I am especially hungry, spicy sour shrimp soup as a starter is also delicious. Their black rice pudding dessert is fantastic as well! Best Thai food in Louisville at any price, but the prices here are a great value in these difficult times!
food is amazing very welcoming
Ordered two Tofu Drunken Noodles for carry out. When I opened the box is at home, they were entirely different.
They had different sized noodles. One had peanuts and the other did not. One box have more tofu and neither had basil or any other vegetable-! it was just noodles and tofu.

I’ve been here many times, and it’s been consistently delicious. The food tastes authentic to my palette, as someone who’s ethnically Cambodian and spent my childhood in Thailand.
My favorite is the tom yum goong (spicy tangy soup with shrimp) - I would argue best in the city. I come for this soup when I’m nostalgic, or looking for comfort.
My husband’s favorite is drunken noodles. He likes it spicy, and he said it would be pretty spicy for the average person. But we are freaks of nature, so it was mild for us.

I’ve ordered from Sala Thai for 9 years now and have always loved the Pinapple Chicken fried rice. Bahn Thai is nasty, we ordered 2 servings of Pinapple chicken fried rice and it came with no sauce, just white rice, 4 chunks of Pineapple and a handful of raisins from some Childs lunch. No peas, carrots, onions, cranberries per usual. When we called to rectify the situation we were hung up on. Awful awful awful

I love this restaurant. It is one of my favorite places and the only place I will get Thai food from. My favorites are the Pad Thai and the jungle curry (Thai spicy 🌶️). Just magnificent! The family is friendly and just all around spectacular in my experiences. A+, highly recommend.
What a great Thai restaurant!

I ordered the stir-fried noodle chicken meal on 4/8/25. The first issue I ran across is the fact that the spice level I asked for was incorrect, and so the meal was quite spicier than I wanted. However, the main issue is that today, 4/9, I went to microwave my leftovers and after I had finished the majority of my food, I discovered that I had been chewing on a piece of plastic (photos added). Obviously that’s not ideal and frustrating since I had microwaved the leftovers with whatever piece of plastic had been in the order. The food is pretty good, but I won’t be going back for food safety reasons.

I'll start with portions are quite small and I'm always disappointed by this (somehow I keep forgetting this when I return each time(. That said, food is decent (hit or miss depending on the dish)!
We tried:
- shrimp salad: fresh shrimp and great spice flavors (probably my favorite dish there)
- drunken noodles: just meh. Hardly any protein. Definitely didn't see any basil
- panang curry: could this dish be any smaller and lacking? They basically just gave us curry liquid.
- seafood stir fry: decent except the liquid was a bit tart (could go without the imitation crab)
- ginger fish: love the crispy fish filet in this dish
- cashew chicken: liquid in this dish was a bit salty but the overall dish is good
- Thai tea: WAY TOO SWEET
I did not like that they removed the Thai names of dishes from the menu. But, I overheard a table next to me expressing great pleasure in this change. So probably the right move for their customers.
Bahn Thai used to be our favorite spot in Louisville but it's only mid now.
