I’ve given this place a few tries and grimace whenever someone wants to do dinner here. The drinks are great. The food is not good and that ruins it. Spaghetti with marinara sauce is tasteless. Chicken piccata was very low quality chicken and not a hint of lemon in the sauce. Even the pepperoni pizza had minimal flavor except for the heat from the peppers. Best dish? Caesar salad. With such a limited menu you would hope they could make the food taste good, but alas. I think the atmosphere is great…for drinks. This is a hotel restaurant. Not your best option in NuLu. My review is based on more than 3 visits for dinner.

I LOVE Italian food, and I've had some of the best of it in many cities: including going to Italy. bar Vetti is by far in my top favorite places for Italian food. The drinks are perfect; starters are delicious; and the main entree was the best Cacio y Pepe I've had. The limoncello sorbet was the best way to end the night.

I have visited Louisville 7-8 times and this was my first time visiting Bar Vetti.
The service was awesome! Destiny was super attentive and very personable.
The menu is perfectly sized and you can tell they do each item very well. My wife and I both had the carbonara. I had the gluten free version. The smoked guanciale made the dish Smokey and differentiated it from other versions I have had in the past. The smokiness paired beautifully with yoke sauce and pecorino cheese.
The broccolini and carrot sides were also absolutely amazing. Everything well well rounded and had robust flavor while not overpowering the the dishes star ingredients.
To top off the meal the lemon sorbet with rosemary honey was lights out and put the exclamation mark on a wonderful evening!
I will be making this place a staple for any trip to Louisville KY!

Great atmosphere, custom cocktails, and a cozy setting make this a great stop. We wnt two different nights and as to be expected the heavy traffic can affect service and libation quality. Differently a needs to be on your list if you in the neighborhood. The spirit selection is superb.

This cute restaurant had kind servers, but there were several problems, including my asking for a Sazerac and then being given a pour of Sazerac Rye instead of a Sazerac cocktail. Also, the carbonara was gluey and grainy, not demonstrating the level of care appropriate for the price point. The appetizer of beets and ricotta was the absolute star of the show.
Others in the party enjoyed their entrees more than I did mine.
