Went into big mamas on a Sunday. Very disappointing very very disappointing order food took a hour and 15 minutes to get did not even have what I wanted what I did. It was dried cold overcooked the service was terrible. I’m telling anyone and everyone in Louisville, Kentucky do not go to big mamas restaurant. I wouldn’t take my dog at my worst enemy there.
I got the smothered pork chops, corn pudding, and Mac and cheese and it was all delicious. 10/10 recommend
We were new customers. Didn't know we couldn't sample food. One person was nice. One person acted like we were a bother. Lady who said she was the cook didn't know what was in the food.
Cabbage hot peppers, no other flavor. Needed salt. Baked chicken delicious. Dressing tasty, but it had too much salt. Green beans were tasty. Mashed potatoes were ok. Meat loaf tasty, but it had a lot of ketchup. Ketchup masked the flavor and seasonings of the meatloaf. Good cornbread ?. I would go back again. ?

First off the girl that answered the phone was very very rude for no reason to begin with. I ordered smothered pork chops and they were very salty. I ordered 2 dark pieces of baked chicken and they gave me only one with extra sides and when I asked them they told me I would have to pay for extra for chicken I already paid for. I'm never coming back and I would never recommend anyone else to be honest. BLACK OWNED BUISNESSES YALL HAVE GOT TO DO BETTER

We drove a good ways to visit this restaraunt. We were looking for authentic soul food. The restaraunt was quiet with dim lighting. It was a relaxed atmosphere. The food is laid out where you can see it. We ordered the baked chicken and the roast. The chicken was fall off the bone tender. I ordered cabbage and Mac and cheese. The cabbage had a great taste and was mildly seasoned. The Mac and cheese was good but a little on the soft side for my liking. They were out of stuffing and I was not offered anything in it's place so I had to wait on it. We were done eating and ready to go before it ever arrived. My husband had the roast and was pretty excited for it, however it was tough yet had a great flavor. He had the mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and green beans. The mashed potatoes seemed to be real potatoes and the Mac and cheese was made with Velveeta type cheese I believe. The cornbread was sweet and good. We informed the owner that the roast was tough and she just said "oh you must have gotten a bad piece". No offer to replace it anything. We ended up throwing it all away. We understand things happen and nothing is ever perfect but customer service seems to be dead.

Stopped in for a bite to eat with a friend. The food was great but it being my first time there I was unsure of the prices and couldn’t find them posted anywhere, only the options available for each day. I was a bit shocked when the total was $34 for 2 plates with no drink. I was then charged $1 for a tiny cup of water. Without having the prices for anything posted I had no idea what to expect but had something like $26-$28 in my head so still under $30 after taxes and that was with a drink.
Adding a fountain drink Machine so the combo meals can be completed by including a drink would be an improvement
I will say I wasn’t given the option to tip but I don’t like tipping at places where I need to pay before receiving my food(how would i possibly know how much to tip) I also don’t tip if I have to walk up to a register, order my food, pay, then walk back to the register once my food is ready and taking it home. Unless I have someone serving me my food and taking care of any needs that might arise while I enjoy my food such as refilling my drink then there is no reason to tip.

Mind you it was 430pm. I had the stuff chicken breast no gravy. Mac-n-cheese was a little soggy. What really got us, was the cornbread was not done. They young girls need more customer service help because they were not friendly. Visiting from Nashville. Won't be back.

Best Fried Chicken in Kentucky. Big Mommas Fries your chicken to order. It is not fast but worth the wait. Choices are limited to Gigantic Breast quarters, wings or legs. They were out of legs so we got breast 1/4. The skin is so crispy and full of flavor. Usually not a fan of breast meat because it tends to be dry. Not here. The huge breaat was moist and juicy. Match that Chicken up with the sides and you have a great soul food meal. The sides are done right.

We got the baked chicken with Mac and cheese and cabbage. The baked chicken was dry and Luke warm. The Mac and cheese was not good at all soggy noodles and
runny, the cabbage was alright. Not my personal preference. My bf got the fried chicken with fried potatoes and Mac. His chicken was juicy and well seasoned, nice and hot. The fried potatoes were really good as well. The banana pudding is more like a yogurt with strawberries and wafers. It was ok but not my type of banana pudding when it comes to soul food, southern style banana pudding. The customer service was great though the ladies were pretty quick and kind. Im from Atlanta so I’m used to real southern style cooking. probably won’t be back
