A wonderful place to eat that has been there for years! A legend in that area! On March 15th they will be closing! Due to lack of foot traffic and people walking through the area! Please come in and check out the menu before they close!

This restaurant has been a staple of Louisville for so long. The food is amazing, the staff is superb, and the ambiance is unforgettable. Our anniversary spot year after year. So sad that they are closing. By the way Felix will always make you feel invited and welcome.

Edit 2/2026: Sorry to hear that after nearly 50 years, this establishment is closing next month. From 2002 to 2008, I would go every Saturday night like clockwork. They were actually open until 2am back then on weekends. Hard to believe. Now it's 9pm most nights. Highlands is a dying neighborhood. So many closures in recent years. Young people don't really dine out anymore either and many have figured out how to cook after Covid. Social media apps that enable people to become shut-ins don't help either to be fair. Restaurants in general are becoming a boomer and tourist adventure. Real shame and the worst may be yet to come. On the positive, I don't know too many establishments that made it 48 years. Good luck to remaining staff.

Original review from 2023: First time I have been here in over 12 years. Ordered the burger and fries to go. For the money, it was top notch. Cooked exactly as I requested. Burger was huge and a big portion of skillet fries included. For $16 I couldn't have been happier. In my opinion, there is absolutely no reason to go pay $20-25 for a burger at the more expensive nearby places because they're not any better than the one here.

At this point, I feel it is time to delete my negative review written many years ago. All that staff has departed since, things change. They remodeled a bit and it appears the new staff is much better. Will be returning.

Wow had a great time at Bristol Bar & Grille I was there for a short period and I ordered the wontons (4,6,8) and yes yes yes yes you have to get the sweet tai chilli sauce on the side and dip them right away!!!The menu looks really good I'm excited to come back, especially an establishment that's been around since 1977 if you live in the area or passing by from my expertise it's a good idea to stop in.

Had the Bristol Fish sandwich, white chili, and pretzel bites with Benedictine sauce & brown mustard. Our server, Nafeesa, was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant vibe was classy & chill, and the menu options plentiful. Within walking distance to many Louisville attractions & hotels. Two thumbs up, highly recommend!

Bristol Bar & Grille has been a Louisville fixture for a long time. But our visit this past Sunday was disappointing. The food on the buffet was sub-par especially when compared to what we have had in the past. Choices were limited, what was on the buffet was not hot and it just wasn't tasty. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. But what remained in our minds about our visit was our disappointment in the food.

The Bristol (Any of their locations) are always a good choice. It had been a while since I was at the Bardstown Rd. location. It is one of my favorite locations. Thanks again for a perfect evening.

It was my first time back to The Bristol in awhile. We had early reservation for 5:30 in order to make it to a 7:05 movie at Baxter. The service was so slow and the food order so slow that we were late to the movies. The waiter may have been new. He was unavailable to take our refill orders on drinks. That is a highlight at Bristol. The $5.00 on Saturday Aperol Spritzes were wonderful. Our orders took a very long time to be delivered. Then tie of the orders were not fully correct, but we accepted them due to the time restraints. Also, we enjoyed the free parking, but that too was a bit of a techno hassle. Overall I was just very disappointed in the dining experience. As I said, it may have been the result of a new employee.

First time dining. Atmosphere was nice. Service was good. Two people in our party ordered the filet medium rare. Steak was overcooked to a medium well. The steak was very salty and neither person could eat the steak. Management did credit 25% of the $30 entree.

Great food and atmosphere. Decorated cutely for Grinchmas. Waitress was a bit odd and had difficulty with keeping the order straight for our party of 5.
