Eating at a fast-food restaurant, especially Burger King, is a mix of nostalgia and frustration—nostalgia for the taste and memories, and frustration from understanding what it takes to work there. Having been a General Manager at Burger King, I know the standards expected, especially during peak hours. So, when I pulled into the drive-thru at 12:50 PM, right after the lunch rush, I had a certain expectation.

From start to finish, it took 20 minutes to receive my order. I could have left, but I had a craving for a Big Fish sandwich since it had been years since I last had one. Back when I managed a store, our average drive-thru time was 78 seconds—not sure if that holds weight 20 years later, but we took pride in efficiency, quality service, and making sure the food was fresh. We simply cared more.

I placed my order at 1 PM:

#5 with cheese, plus an extra sandwich

#10 with cheese and onions

8-piece nuggets

Hershey pie

I received my order at 1:10 PM and immediately requested hot onion rings, which led to being asked to pull up to the main door. At this point, I honestly could have asked for my entire order to be remade.

Upon checking, I noticed I received a #1 with cheese instead of my #5, and my #10 sandwich looked old, as if it had been sitting under the heat lamp and was just sent back to add onions. I parked and went inside for my onion rings, only to be told they had just been dropped and would take another minute and 30 seconds. After a 20-minute wait, my entire order should have been freshly made.

The team member taking orders, a tall, slim gentleman wearing a mask, had an upbeat energy. He tried to lighten the mood and downplay the long wait by joking about being short-staffed. Given the bad weather, I can understand if there were call-outs, but as a manager, you don’t blame the employees who did show up—you step up and assist in the kitchen or drive-thru to keep things moving. If things are slow, at the very least, make sure the customers get hot food.

On a positive note, the store had a 98 health inspection score, so something is being done right. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but consistency is key. For all they know, I could have been a Coca-Cola secret shopper.

And a quick reminder—tuck your shirts in and ensure everyone is in full uniform.

Highlight of the meal? The Hershey pie was great!

Horrible Service – Avoid This Location!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered and paid through the app, then went through the drive-thru at the Burger King on 1820 Blankenbaker Parkway in Louisville. Inside, there were three employees—all on their phones and completely ignoring customers.

After waiting a ridiculous 20 minutes for a simple Jr. Whopper, one of them finally opened the window and tossed the bag at me—literally just threw it into my car. No greeting, no acknowledgment, no smile, no "please" or "thank you." Just pure rudeness.

Courtesy and customer service do not exist at this location. If you want to feel like an inconvenience instead of a paying customer, this is the place for you. Otherwise, go somewhere—ANYWHERE—else.

The best I've been to, they offer the same as others but they have a plus: the guy who receives the orders. That boy named Nico makes anyone's day, super charismatic and with great vibes. Without a doubt, the good treatment makes the hamburger taste better

When my wife arrived on 01/18/25 the young lady behind the counter was asking who apparently was the manager, “aren’t we closing early today?” Then my wife’s mushroom melt was super cold and as we were leaving at 8:15PM the young lady was attempting to lock the front doors and there customers exiting their vehicles! Terrible! Owners or Corporate need to train their employees and respect the hours of operations!

Very good place to go they're working on their bathroom being remodeled so you'll have to work with them until it's all fixed it should be by this post not sure hadn't been there in 6 days

Parking: They were getting the bathrooms remodeled by this post they should be fixed other than that it was a great experience

Kid-friendliness: This is definitely a kid friendly environment they had a section for if you had a parties you know birthday or something like that it would be perfect for 10 to 20 kids maybe more

Wheelchair accessibility: You don't have to worry about it there's all wheelchair accessible they all have ramps for parking spots you'll have no problem getting in and out even with the van

Thank you for having your dining room open. We first tried the Wendy's and the Arby's and neither one was open.
You should also fix the business hours in Google. It says you're closed on Saturday's.
