Certain restaurants, you have to know what they are known for. Cafe Thủy Van is known for the broken rice caramelized pork chop dish. It is the best of any place I’ve eaten in my travels - Vietnam included.

This used to be my favorite Vietnamese spot, but it’s just not as good as it used to be.

I live about 2 minutes from this place. I've eaten here around 45-50 times, never alone. The food has been shockingly good 49-50 times.

I'm Vietnamese American and this place has pretty good pho.

I give this place a 4 out of 5 because I felt like the pho broth was missing something. The Vietnamese coffee was absolutely delicious.

After driving 30 mins to get here .The server seemed discontent, eye rolling and visible physicalizations annoyed and highly bothered that we interrupted his social time with his buddies and had to stand , grab a menu to seat us. We were looking forward eating here but after being seated we were informed they only take cash payments. Here's an idea!Put a sign on the doors stating " Cash Only".We won’t be wasting our earthly time, resources, carbon footprints driving here one way 30 mins to experience dubious questionable lack of professionalism.Have a good day.

Excellent food and service. Yet another delicious Vietnamese restaurant in south central Louisville.

Vegetarian options: A lot of their dishes can be made without meat.

For a little dive restaurant, they had one of the best Vietnamese dishes I've had yet. I knew it was authentic cuisine when it started filling up with a bunch of Vietnamese customers!!!

The best Vietnamese food in Louisville. Friendly, small, family-run place. Broken rice dishes!

Food still taste great as ever, but if you order pho, any particular soup, make sure to tell them you want the vegetables/herbs on the side because now they put it all inside the soup. I have no problem with it though, the more vegetables and herbs, the better but my husband didn't like it. He didn't want to ask for a new bowl, so he picked them out. They no longer offer free water, so make sure you order a drink at the beginning. They also no longer leave napkins at the table either. I don't know why. I really like this restaurant however I feel it has gone down after covid. The air conditioner was probably broken on the day my family and I went because it was pretty stuffy.
