This was our first visit to Dasha Barbours and we really enjoyed the ambiance—perfect for a girls’ day out with the windows open on a beautiful spring day. We tried three appetizers: fried salmon bites, Dasha’s collard green dip, and the soul food egg rolls. All were good, but the egg rolls were our favorite! For mains, we had the Cajun Salmon & Rasta Pasta, Lamb Chop Lollipops, and Braised Beef Short Ribs with Grits. Everything was flavorful, but I was disappointed that the “short ribs” were actually a dry cut of roast shaped to look like one. That was the only miss in an otherwise enjoyable experience.

If you want great customer service and food that will crush any craving then this is the spot. The music and the ambiance was lit. I will definitely be coming back and referring this spot to my friends and family. The owner Mr. Aaron and our waitress Aniyah (new waitress) made this experience extra phenomenal 👏 🙌 😍.

The food was Was not what I expected based off of the hype. The breading The salmon bites was too thick and it seemed like they cut up the whole salmon, including the skinny parts and served me the skinny pieces in my friend. Had a big bowl of chunks lol the fried tomatoes could’ve been better. It’s like nothing was seasoned besides the sauce, the drinks were greatto one bartender that served us she made them strong and the macaroni and cheese was disgraceful. There was no season in the Mac n cheese what us so ever that place was really pretty inside though! Never again!

Very nice atmosphere, staff was professional and friendly. Food took way too long. Once my entrée arrived, it was cold. In fear of another long wait, almost an hour or so, I opted out of mentioning it. I ordered a dessert to go, which took an additional 30 minutes. I would definitely try this restaurant again in the future. However, I will be prepared to wait and try another dish as I was not a fan of the Marry me Chicken.

Went with friends after a long day. We had almost no wait, our waiter was great despite being in his first week, they had a more experienced waiter keeping an eye on things to help if needed, and my Mac n Cheese was fabulous! My friends got chicken and waffles, and one got a turkey dish; we all cleaned our plates. Oh- and the music and decor were the icing on the cake, but I'm not saying more on that because you need to check it out for yourself.

What a bad experience I came in from Chicago for my brother’s birthday reservation was at 3 we were on time it took 45 min to get our drinks we were told our ticket fell on the floor but our waiter should have known something when our drinks were never made then we sat there 2 hours no word of nothing when asked kept saying food was coming up but wasn’t so we asked for a manager and so many excuses but when I read the reviews a lot of people had the same experience so finally we were fed up and decided to leave my brother was very upset and they wasted 2 hours of our time causing us to miss another event we had planned because we had to find another restaurant please please read the reviews this place has serious staffing issues but that should not fall on the customer this was not one bad day this is a reoccurring problem

The service was horrible. We had a reservation at 8:30. We arrived on time. We had NO ONE come back to our table to ask us for drinks until 9. We order everything just to find out during our 50 minute wait for our food that they ran out of both macaroni and cheese AND mashed potatoes. We think this is because of the terrible service our order got placed so late that we couldn’t even get the food we wanted. We came all the way from Indianapolis just to get an appetizer and fried catfish with no sides. I will not ever be returning and I would not waste your time here. Highly unprofessional and I have never received this horrible of service IN MY LIFE!!!

I booked a reservation for a group of eight at Dasha Barbours, a Black-owned business that we really wanted to support. But sadly, the whole experience ended up being disappointing. On the day of our brunch reservation, I found out they were hosting another brunch event, so I called to confirm everything was still good. They said it was fine, but instead of seating us in the main dining room upstairs (which I originally booked), they moved us to the basement lounge area because of the other event.

The basement looked nothing like what we expected for brunch, but we figured we’d make the best of it. The server was great at first, bringing us drinks and checking in on us. But as we were waiting for our food, a group of people with suitcases came downstairs and started rearranging the space. We were confused, and then realized they were actually filming a movie right there while we were trying to enjoy our meal. The movie crew was walking by us, setting up shots, and it felt like we were just in the way.

There were a couple of other groups eating down there, and everyone seemed confused. After a while, one of my friends went to talk to the owner. He was accommodating and really nice when we brought up our concerns, and he moved us upstairs right away. I appreciated that he was solution-oriented and tried to make things right after we said something, but by then we had already waited almost two hours for our food. When it finally came, the food was good, but the entire experience had been ruined.

As we were leaving, we were shushed and told to be quiet because they were still filming the movie! Despite the owner’s efforts to help, the overall experience was still unorganized and unprofessional. We really wanted to support a Black-owned business, but it felt like they were trying to do too much at once—between the brunch event, the movie, and our reservation. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend Dasha Barbours.

Although great southern comfort food; soul food for a table of eight, including two kids, should not have a total of $518.00. Stopped with the automatic gratuitous of 20%, due to eight and more. If your service is not great, please do not force a tip or gratuitous. Trust me, I used to be a banquet server/waiter/bartender for two years; never force a tip amount on anybody. In addition, our reservation was at 2:00 PM EST on October 27, 2024, and the food did not come to our table until 3:11 PM. EST. Originally, the waiter stated to us, "Sorry, No Four Piece Chicken or Meat Loaf. Sorry about us not prepping early; now we do!" A $.$$ amount per side; not the side with the meal itself. $36.00 for a Meatloaf Meal; Huh. $10.00 for a house salad with no carrots. A total amount of $518.00 for soul food of eight people is a robbery vs that is a total amount of catering at Indies. The Dasha Bistro at then Buchel Bypass in March 2020 has been super better quality and quantity vs East Main Street on October 27, 2024. Remember; for Soul Food. This is not a Five Star Italian or French restaurant for those prices. This is not Eddie's Merlot or Ruth Chris or etc.
