Drake's - St. Matthews

I'm not from Louisville and was just visiting. This place really surprised me. I got their barbecue burger and it was fantastic! The staff is super friendly. I went in the middle of the day so it wasn't that busy. But I understand that this place can get hopping late night and on the weekend.

I went there on an off night, maybe three or four people at the bar. The staff had awful service and didn't take the time to engage you in any conversation like any good bartender would

The updated / expansion are great — made a place we already enjoyed 10x better! Service in the past wasn’t our favorite, but tonight we had greatservice, never having to even ask for anything, and enjoyed all of our food! Thanks, Gabby T for being probably the best server we’ve had at Drake’s! We’ll be back!

it’s okay. the sushi doesn’t feel/taste authentic or fresh (it’s a step up from gas station sushi or premade rolls from groceries) but those tots are amazing!

One of my favorites to eat. Great renovation, fresh new look still great food and service, really cool second bar with all the TVs and more spacious.

Food from a "Drakes" never disappoints, but the service was subpar. The appetizer we ordered didn't come until after we had eaten our food, and our waters only got refilled once after sitting empty for half our meal.

Sadly the host started us off on the wrong foot. We came in with a party of 8 (7 adults and 1 baby) My sister requested a table with the most elbow room and he attempted to seat us at a small oval 4 top. She objected and we were placed at what might comfortably seat 6 instead. When we met our server she never gave us her name and skipped over me when asking what drinks we would like so I was never able to order a cocktail.

The food was okay...

I noticed servers standing around next to the bar frequently, one was actually chewing on something as she was behind the bar (if you allow them to eat behind the bar then no big deal). Servers have downtime, I get it, but most tables around me had dishes that could have been pre-bussed.

When we asked for the check it took a while for her to come back to take the card. One of us eventually had to go hand it to her while she stood around behind the bar.

On a positive note the sink in the bathroom was very attentive and should be considered for a promotion if you need a new host or server.
