We come here every week for $.99 street tacos on Tuesday. The chips and salsa are homemade and everything tastes like someone's grandma is in the back making it. Haven't had anything bad on the menu yet and the prices are very affordable. Plus the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

So I'm half Hispanic and grew up eating street tacos with my dad. He tricked me into eating a lingua taco when I was little. He wouldn't tell me what it was until after I fell in love. I haven't found good lingua tacos in over 10 years, but El Comal came through! To get to the point, their service was so friendly, I felt like family (even with my wild 4yr old) when I was ordering take out. They had the food to me in about 5min too! The restaurant was very clean feeling, like the air was fresh and the bathroom was spotless. They did a cool remodeling job. It looks like they kept some of the original decor from when it was an American Cafe for years, but they added a Hispanic twist. For instance, they had fortknox designs beside dancing sugar skull characters on the bar top.The food was all very good! I was surprised when I asked about fajitas and they don't do those. When I thought about it, I really respected and liked that because they aren't your average mexican restaurant. They do lots of street food style dishes, and they have a unique menu. Their salsa was amazing, too!! To top it off, I got food for 3 people for 35$. The prices are great, the food was great, the service and interior were great. There's nothing to not like for this girl! Oh I almost forgot, they even had vegetarian options on the menu that looked so yummy!Definitely recommend this spot for locals and visitors! This is another louisville gem that is seemingly underrated.SUPORT LOCAL LOU FAM!Kid-friendliness: They loved my wild child, so they seemed very kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no ramp needed, straight in access.

A smaller less known Mexican food joint on Dixie Hwy. I'll say it's one of the most authentic ones I've been too. The staff is very friendly, although they do struggle a little with English, but always has someone there that can help translate if needed. It's an older restaurant that's been remodeled, so it doesn't look the best inside, but they make up for it with their service and food quality.

The worst tacos you can eat in Louisville. Hard and flavorless meat and the tortillas are not fresh, they are hard. Thank goodness I bought them on Tuesday because they are 99 cents because paying 3 dollars for tacos that bad is hard. Besides, they add very little meat and they give you crushed tacos that look like someone sat on them. I don't recommend the tacos from this place at all.

I only had takeout, so I can't comment on the atmosphere or service inside, but the carry out is quick and the food is good. I ordered two street tacos for Taco Tuesday and they explained which meats were available and which didn't qualify (steak is extra) and two steak taco supremes. My phone continued to cutout during the call, but they were patient with me and my order was correct when I went to pay upon pickup. I will eat here again!
