Had always enjoyed their service until I received these small portions. My burrito was smaller than a hotdog, and my Monica lacked cheese, rice, two shrimp, and very little chicken.I threw $30 plus dollars down the drain.Never again will I be eating at that location in the Highlands.

Straight up mids. Smelled like stale vegetable oil too.

First off, service was great. The drinks were also good and they have a great selection of Mexican beers on draft. My main issue is that the food is super mediocre at this location.I had the mole enchiladas and they were pretty bland. My wife got a taco salad which was about 1/4 of lettuce, a pile of dry chicken and burnt bacon. Almost no cheese, no sour cream or anything, and the shell was soggy. Not saying I would never go here again or anything but I've had much better luck at other El Nopal locations.

Walking distance from our hotel, was very convenient! We were quick to get a table. They immediately had chips and salsa on the table and took our drink order. The salsa was fresh and delicious. One was spicy and the other not. Loved this!! I ordered a combo meal and my husband had carnitas. Both were great! Generous portions! We sat in the bar area. The noise level was nice! We were able to hear each other!! I can't say enough good things about the service and cleanliness of this restaurant. They treat you like you are their only customer! Thanks El Nopal! We will be back!!

Stopped in around 2 PM on a Sunday with group of 10 and seated immediately. Orders for drinks and food were taken and service was efficient and quick. Food was brought to all diners simultaneously and plates were hot and food orders were accurate. I ordered the flour tortilla burrito with grilled strips of chicken topped with white queso along with a side of refried beans and rice. The burrito was huge and I ultimately took over half of it to go because it was such a large portion. The chicken was a tad bit dry, but it did have a good seasoning flavor. The waitstaff were very attentive and the restaurant has several large screen TVs viewable from most seats, so this is a great spot to watch sporting events. Located on Bardstown Road in the Highlands, but was fairly calm for a Sunday afternoon. Plan to return!

I ordered nachos with a carne asada burrito and it was amazing! The portion size was quite large as I had enough for leftovers later that night and the pricing was very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. The staff was immensely pleasant, smiling and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of that day. High vibrations from El Nopal.

El Nopal was going to be a solid three from me. The drinks were big, but had almost no alcohol to them, the chips and salsa being very average (and to the point where I had to add hot sauce to the salsa to keep from falling asleep), the steak being tender, but in desperate need of marinade and salt. HOWEVER. Let the clouds part and the angels sing hallelujah because they offer lengua tacos. And not just lengua tacos - REALLY GOOD lengua tacos. I am wiping away a tear because I never thought i would see the day when the Highlands would offer such a delicacy. So, an extra star from me. Interior is very cute with Mexican pottery and vibrant colors, service was a tad slow considering there were only three tables occupied at the time. But I dont care, lengua tacos Lengua tacos! Let us rejoice.

Server was not great. Everything I ordered came out wrong. Server never even asked if our food was good. Almost like he didnt care. Taco meat was bland and had no flavor. Thumbs down!

Been past this El Nopal many times throughout the years and my friend and I decided to come here for a Mexican Food fix (crave). Beings this is in the Highlands, they do have private parking in the back and street parking. Private parking has signs where you can scan the signs with your phone to pay so we opted for street parking. We entered through the back and were seated rather quickly. Browsing the menu, we quickly knew what we wanted, getting waited on took a little time and the place wasn't very busy. After placing our orders the food took about 30 minutes or so to get to us. I been to quite a few El Nepals in Louisville and never waited this long for the food, the other ones got the food out within a few minutes. Not sure it was staffing issues or what but, it was not very busy for dinner. I got the cheese enchiladas with a crunchy taco and my friend got the burrito supreme I think the name of it is. We definitely got our Mexican food fix and were ready for naps afterwards lol. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Its just odd that the wait time was quite long beings I never experienced this at any other location. They did a great job and maybe, maybe not be back, not sure yet.

I ordered by Grub Hub from the Baxter location. The food was beautifully prepared. Seasoned well and packaged well. The portions were generous and the vegetable items were fresh and crisp. I had ordered from the Zorn location previously and was not satisfied at all. This location turns out really great food.
