Love this place! The chef travels the globe and brings back worldwide cuisine. Bring your own wine, sit back, and enjoy!

I have been to nearly ever four and five star restaurant in the Louisville area. What makes Fond stand out is the "Love" that you feel with every meal. She makes you feel like you are family. When you eat with Chef Dee, it is like eating at the kitchen table at Grandma's. If grandma could cook like this. You not eaten at Fond, you are missing out on something very special.

June 14, 2019 Our evening consisted of six courses from Chef Madeleine Dee. They were some of the first offerings when she opened Fond on Frankfort Ave, four years ago. All the dishes were prepared with love. All were simple yet elegant. As it was leading up to her moving to a new space, it was an emotional evening for her and her regular guests/friends. In July 2019, Madeleine will move into the new, Logan Street Market. She has exciting plans for her space there. Stay tuned!

I regularly have meals at Fond and each time I eat there the menu is creative and beautifully executed. Madeleine is such a fantastically gracious host and you can tell she truly cares for both her cuisine and guests. A must do in Louisville!

I have been waiting to try Fond for months after seeing the Chef on Food Network. The meal did not disappoint. From top to bottom is was very good with some dishes working out better than others, but all done well. Yes, at twice the cost, it could have been elevated to all 5-star dishes, but considering the value, I daresay there is a better coursed menu for less per person in Louisville, or any other metropolitan city. Elsewhere, this menu would have been 50% more. Throw that on top of no corking fee for 3 bottles of better BYOB wines, and the net might actually be near free food compare to other restaurants. I would 100% return; if there were ever an opening again.

There aren't many meals I dream about; and never have my wife and I discussed and fawned over a meal hours after we're finished, but last night we had the absolute pleasure of experiencing our Valentine's Day dinner at Fond. This dinner was indeed that: an experience. Chef Madeleine is a master of what she does - carefully preparing each plate, for each course, for each person; and hand delivering it - explaining its complexity with a radiant smile. It is difficult to find the words elegant enough to do it all justice - such descriptions are better left to poets - but I will do my best: Each bite of each dish was a delicious movement in a symphony of 7 courses from the most prestigious orchestral conductor that is Ms. Dee.

Serves dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Set menu and requires reservations. Frequently sells out. I've been several times and been impressed every time. The food is over the top and I'm always full when I leave. Chef Madeleine Dee works hard to ensure everything is perfect.

The chef is amazing and hopefully my new friend. The food is subtle, nuanced, well balanced, and a the flavors dance on one's palate. The presentation on most dishes is architectural and accented with colors that guide one's gaze across the plate. CALL AHEAD and get reservations, the chef only does a small seating a few nights a week and they are currently booked a month in advance. They had a last minute cancellation and snuck me in. It's BYOB, a decent wine shop is a few hundred feet away. The prix-fixe menu changes monthly.

Took my partner here for his birthday dinner after reading about Chef Madeleine Dee in the Louisville Local guide. I had never taken him to a 6 course meal curates by a chef and was so excited.

We had another wonderful dining experience at Fond last night! If you live within driving distance of Louisville, make a point to have dinner here. It's an experience, not just a meal. Atmosphere, the ability to actually have a meaningful conversation with your date, and the best food we've ever tasted makes this place INCREDIBLE. I promise you won't be sorry you've had dinner here!

Completely in love with unique and delicious places to eat in this awesome city of Louisville. Though I am crazy about high end restaurants, there are times I would love to dine out but have a more relaxed experience. This place does it it for me. Find is in a cute older house on Frankfort road and you could drive by it if you are not in the know. First you must make a reservation through Open table....and you are required to put 50% down for to hold the reservation. Don't get irritable about that...Fond has seating for about 12 people and they do one dinner a night on Fridays and Saturdays....plus some Thursdays. So you can understand the importance of showing up for your reservation. And it is BYOB....bring a yummy bottle or two wine and they will provide openers and glasses. Please come hungry!!! They serve about 5 or 6 small plates and they do fill you up. Ours started with little gig 'pizzas' served and cute tiny cake stand. Delish!!! The charcuterie plate almost had me licking the butter off the plate. Risotto cake with basil...again amazing. I don't like gnocchi but now I'm in love with it...they served a gnocchi with tomato sauce, shrimps and scallops. There was a take on chicken pot pie...so, so delicious. To finish with a puff pastry with raspberry and caramel...plus some yummy chocolates. The service was impeccable!!! All the tables are either 2 top or 4 top so you feel very intimate it there and yet you can come dressed nicely casual. It's a set meal so check out their website to see some of the past meals and upcoming ones. Definitely will go there again.

Fantastic food. Fantastic service. We were also exposed to Chef Madeleine's food line, which we're a huge fan of!
