The last two times I've been there for the Hot Browns
their not making them the same way as normal. Both times somethings been wrong. No cheddar ontop this time and
bacon wasn't cooked an not enough sauce. I don't mind paying the price for these when their made right because they are normally delicious.

Got the chicken Philly. Was disappointed. Expected it loaded with cheese top bottom sides ya know. Mixed in with the chicken and peppers too. It was dry. Melted cheese on the hoagie that’s it. Chicken had good seasoning though. Not counting the place out. I’ll be back to try the chicken buffalo.

Let’s start here the owner outside of food has A1 customer service. I immediately noticed of how much he has such an altruistic personality and that alone did it for me. From the signs that offer food to those in need , to the neighborhood little girl coming in asking for a cup for a drink and you can tell they respect him and come in frequently. It was such a joy to see a small business with the actual owner there behind the scenes and holding such meaningfully convos between us. Even though he was closing he offered to still encourage us to sit and enjoy. Now I can’t neglect the real real REASON . THE FOOD 🔥. So not only are you getting top tier customer service you are getting amazing affordable food . I rarely make these reviews but I feel compelled to do so. I couldn’t decide so I chose the 1/2 Hot Brown and the Philly cheesesteak . Shelby got the Cuban and a side of fries. The fries was a small but enough for us to share . All food came out piping hot , fresh. Mind you we got there about 8:30 they close at 9… most restaurants at closing time you are going to be faced with attitudes and mediocre food NOT HERE!!! Never felt rushed even. The fries crispy and seasoned just right 😩 The Philly cheesesteak you can pick your cheese .. of course I got the White American and at the first bite the juice was running down my fingers and I had to take a double bite 😂🔥🔥 The Cuban I took a bite and listen flavorful such a huge proportion … like we in Miami somewhere lol aye Shelby can’t stop talking about it we was light weight moaning eating…. But wait there’s more THAT HOT BROWN …. Again THAT HOT BROWN Whewwwwwwww that right there F I R E omg it was gone in 2.5 seconds. All it’s cheesy , saucy goodness with the toast , turkey and tomato 🍅 OMGOODNESS I’m definitely in the kids words “GLAZING”GORILLA BOBS because all around it was worth every dollar we gave. If you have not please patronize this small business!!!! It’s not everyday you find people such as the owner who have such an amazing selfless personality but can COOK his bottom off too ! We will be back and I hope a lot of you and your taste buds find your way straight to that restaurant immediately . These words ,pictures , and videos do it no justice trust me!!!!

Gorilla Bobs was nice and would try it again but the Hot Brown was not my favorite though in all honesty I have nothing to compare it too(only one I have ever had)…I think the bacon was not cooked enough for me, but again my tastes and other than that it was very good. My husband got the Cuban Sandwich which he said was good but prefers it when the chicken is smoked or grilled. It was a fun and clean atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Excerpt taken from an email:
There's an amazing spot called Gorilla Bob's that's a huge comfort to me and a lot of people I know. They have a lot to offer but if I had to try and summarize it in one line, I'd say it's rich comfort food you feel in your soul when you eat it.

They mostly do sandwiches; Rubens, Cubans, and Phillys (with Cheez Wiz!) but my favorite of theirs is the hot brown. It's a staple in Kentucky but I never had one before Bob's, and I've been in love with it ever since. Like most dishes there, you can get it loaded on fries which is what I always go for when I can afford eating out. It's such a treat to me when I'm feeling down, it always makes my day.

They also offer a front for people to get free meals, which paired with how often they have discounts and vouchers really makes me feel like they care about the community around them. They fundraise for others very often, and are very friendly faces to anyone that comes it. I always feel at home in their company, even in the days when they operated out of a little shack on the side of the road.
