Wonderful little place found by recommendation. Warm service, mellow atmosphere and authentic tasty food. Off the beaten path. Be patient with languages - very worth it!

The lady at the counter is very polite! Word to the wise though, don't bother preordering on grubhub, they don't use it anymore. The injera was great, but the lamb tibsi... Not so much. Maybe it was a fluke (probably was, seeing other customers pictures) but my order was easily 50% bone and broth, with not even enough meat to fill a spoon.

The service was fantastic, couldn't dream of better. The owner was kind, excited, and very helpful. Knew about all the vegan options, which were multiple. The food came out just in time and I was greeted with a heaping plate of lentils, green, cabbage, more food than I could eat in one sitting. Fantastically spiced, I couldn't ask for better.
Vegetarian options: Veggie platter, lentils, chickpeas. Owner is knowledgeable of vegan options.
Dietary restrictions: Most if not all are gluten free.

We ordered one meat & veggie combo and shikla lamb. The gentleman rang us up for two orders of meat & veggie combo. I asked if they have berbere. The gentle confirmed they do. I requested for that -- I did not receive berbere. The meat & veggie plate was VERY LACKLUSTER. Flavors were a bit bland. The dish came with almost nothing -- not even a salad. The lamb was DRY -- it hurt to chew the meat. All so disappointing. With so many other better options in Louisville for Ethiopian food, it'll be an awhile before I give this another try.P.S. I did order for pick up and based on others photos I wonder if the food is better when you order for dine in. Not sure why that would be though.

EASILY the best Habesha food in Louisville. I took my friends there a few weeks ago and we were NOT disappointed. Top tier service and atmosphere. Food was incredible too!!!! I grew up around Habesha people so I do not play about my East African food!!!!! Habesha Restaurant and Grocery came through clutch!!!!! My mouth was transported to Asmara after just a few bites
