My experience is a bit different...we ordered via GrubHub tonight. We are new to KY & wanted to try Havana Rumba. ALSO, we have never had cuban food before. The restaurant was quick & the GH driver got our order to us just as quick. We opened our bag & found part of our order is missing. I tried to contact the driver but was unable to. So I contacted Havana Rumba. The person that answered was very kind, verified my order & found that the driver had left the second part of my order. She tried contacting the driver but they refused to return & make the delivery right (who did NOT deserve the tip he got). So Havana Rumba rose to the occasion going above & beyond! They apologized for the situation & one of them delivered the missing food to us. Not only was it delicious, but the customer service was beyond exceptional! ? Way to go Havana Rumba, excited to try more from your menu! Can't say the same for GrubHub...

Blew our minds! Having lived in FL for several years, we thought we found the best Cuban restaurant around until we stumbled onto Havana Rumba. Upon being greeted by our very pleasant waiter, we were given some freshly baked Cuban bread with some amazing herb butter. Ordered an Original Cuban Mojito and the Havana Mule, could tell which one was better. The Mojito was packed with flavor but not overly sweet, just perfect. The mule had a bit of a sweeter side but felt this came from the really strawberries being used. Our of curiosity we ordered a tapas sampler and every bite just blew us away. Do have to say the absolute favorite was chorizo bacon wrapped skewers. In order to compare apples to apples, we all ordered a traditional cubano. BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! Can't express that enough! Enjoyed every bite of the 1/2 we could squeeze in. The pulled pork was extremely juicy and all of the flavors were so well balanced on their freshly baked bread. Also have to say that the sweet potato fries were just perfectly cooked, some many places just can't get them right so I'm always afraid to try them. They were lightly sprinkles with sugar and served with this crazy sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Our only disappointment is that there is not a Havana Rumba in Lexington. Now we have to find excuses to get ourselves back to Louisville regularly just so we can enjoy this incredible food. Side note, the atmosphere and deco really made you feel like your being transported back in time. Highly, highly recommend checking this place out!

Vaca Frita was good, kind of a fajitas feel with the veggies and such.Ropa Vieja was fantastic - only got to try it and wish I had the full serving. Lots of flavorEmpanadas are excellent. They come in pairs, are a good size, and have great flavor. Chicken and beef were my favorites. The spinach one was still good, just not as good.Queso is amazing. You should definitely order some. Love the plantain chips too.Flan is decent, not mind blowing, but I like flan.Overall great takeout experience, would order again.

We were recommended this place from a friend who grew up in Louisville. He did not steer us wrong. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and sat at a high top--tip: if you want a quieter space ask for a high top! The main ambience was warm and lively, full of Cuban culture and spirit. Tucked away near the bar, the volume toned down a little to provide a really wonderful space for conversation. Meal: To start off, our very wonderful waitress Lisandra helped us pick out an appetizer, shredded beef and pico de gallo on top of caramelized sweet plantains which was out of this world. We ordered a chimichurri steak, Cuban sandwich, and of course the classic Havana Rumba. The chimichurri steak was excellent. The red sauce that came with it was good but not very spicy--I suspect it had been toned down for Midwestern stomachs. The Cuban sandwich was stock full of meat, delicious and hearty. The Havana Rumba was also super meaty, with the pork extra savory, tasting traditional and overall just very good. One drawback was that it was a little oversalted, so perhaps be careful if you're watching your sodium. A highlight of the meal was the maduros, the fried sweet plantains. Carmelized, crispy, perfectly sweet and chewy on the inside, I would go back for these alone. Cocktails: I tried their Kentucky bourbon, mojito, and piña colada. Impressive presentation and the drinks were quality. Desserts: Their classic Cuban flan was delicious, though the outside texture was a little spongy and soggy due I think to the caramel sauce on top. The cake de Bombon was utterly scrumptious, and not overly sweet. Our waitress Lisandra went above and beyond, super kind, informative, and made us feel very welcomed. She then gave us a $20 gift card at the end of our stay!! Overall one of my favorite restaurant experiences ever and I can't recommend this place highly enough. You'd be making a mistake to not go here at least once on your trip to Louisville

The location is on a great spot and great parking lot, the ambiance is great and it was clean. It have great Custumer service and the staff is very friendly. The food was very good, but I will say it wasn't great., empanada was great and they serve what great but meal was OK felt it was missing something. Other than that definitely will like to go back to try it again.

Came in for lunch on a Saturday. No wait, not overly busy around Noon. Chicken platter and steak chimichurri were both yummy. The rice beans plantains were all good. Salsa that came with the dishes was also good, nothing "wow-worthy." We also had a house margarita and a skinny margarita--again yummy but nothing unique or amazing. Service was wonderful. Ambiance was fine (I hear they have a live band in the evenings that gets LOUD, so I will come back for entertainment!). 4 out of 5 stars because it was good and I'll be back, but nothing exceptional to note.
