Absolutely recommend visiting it was wonderful! My first time ever visiting the bakery, the woman at the front was so nice and helpful. She explained what each pastry was and what it was filled with. She was super patient and I really appreciated it. There were so many options; all fresh, homemade, very reasonably priced as well. They were boxing up a wedding cake when I came in and it looked beautiful, definitely impressed with the quality of the items. I got 3 items for my first visit; a cheesecake Danish, chocolate alligator, and cinnamon twist. Each one was amazing! I will absolutely be going back and encourage others to try it.

This situation upset me so much that I've waited a week to write this.
I have been getting my family's birthday cakes from Heitzman's Bakery for years and I will NEVER step foot in there again!
I always call in a few days before the cake is needed (they always say give them 24hrs notice), they ask for a picture of an image if I want something particular, I email them the image, they confirm they received my email, and then I proceed to pay, and pick up at the designated time. This is how it's gone for at least the past 3 years for my family's birthday cakes.
This time was different.
I called on the 17th, placed my order with the lady with the glasses that has been working there all the years I've been buying cakes. We talked about the design and she suggested a few things and we agreed that it would be a picture of my son in his football uniform, a red and white boarder, footballs on the corners, and it would say "Happy 14th Birthday Carson". It would be ready for pick up at 10am on the 19th of October.
Before I proceeded to pay, she asked Tony, the manager, if he received my email of my picture and he said yes. I paid for my son's cake, no policy was discussed, and that was the end of the call.
Saturday, I got to the Bakery at 12:30pm. I was running behind, due to my son's football game lasting longer than expected. The party ended at 1:30pm and the venue was 15mins away from the Bakery, so I was crunched for time.
I walked in, waited behind a family picking out their $1 donuts, and then I was greeted by the same lady who took my order over the phone. She brought the cake from behind her and when I looked at the cake I was shocked.
The cake originally was decorated with a red, white, and blue, picture of some football player whom which you could only see his silhouette. He had a number 12 on his jersey. I immediately asked who in the world is this person because that was not the picture I sent them. The boarder of the cake had red white and blue sprinkles, and blue was NEVER supposed to be on the cake.
She asked Tony to come to the front and I explained that although that was a nice cake, that was not what I asked for and he apologized and said he would fix it and it would only take 10mins which I didn't think was possible, but this has never happened before so I wanted to give him a break.
I left, went across the street to the dollar tree, came back OVER 10mins later, and Tony was NOT DONE. I let both of them know that I was going to miss my son's whole birthday party and that I needed to leave. I asked to just get my money back and he brought the cake to the front and told me that there was a sign on the door that there were no refunds.
I ordered over the phone, so how would I see a sign on the door?! That policy was not told to me prior to them getting my card number and placing the charge on my card.
He told me to just take the cake he made. I refused because it looked terrible and on the back side where you can't see, there were still red white and blue sprinkles. The cake said "Happy 14 Birthday Carson", and that looked shaky as well as the boarder.
I asked him did that really look like a $60 cake to him, he hesitated, and then said yes. That is a lie, this cake was terrible. I've never ordered a cake this ill put together.
He then said to me, "Just take the cake, because where are you going to get a cake this short notice". I told him ANY grocery store and the cake would look better than that, then he said, not with the image on there and I let him know that the image is the least of my worries at this point. the lady was very nice gave me a cookie and suggested some butter bread which i purchased. I was so excited initially but when i got home to eat my donut it was so dry and no glaze as well as wrapped in a dry napkin instead of pastry paper. Heitzman has been a family favorite for a long time, and i stumbled on them by accident visiting a restaurant in the same plaza. the cookie was good and that was free. The recipe isn’t the same and the presentation of item purchase wasn’t great. a paper sack. i tried to enjoy it, but i was let down

Consequently, I promptly canceled my order in January. However, it's now April, and I've been engaged in ongoing phone calls with Heitzman Bakery regarding my refund. Unfortunately, they have either refused to reimburse me or abruptly terminated the calls. Regrettably, I cannot recommend conducting business with them based on my experience.

I love this place. There has been a few times that I have went in on a whim to get a cake order and they accomodate every time. I am completely grateful for this. The staff is always sweet and the cakes are always delicious. Couldn't ask for much more honestly.

If I could give this place a ZERO I would. I ordered a cake for my dads 90th birthday. They had a design of praying hands I said I wanted it just like what they had. I wanted the trim to have purple and grey because the praying hands was grey. As you can see in the pictures the cake is slanted, icing is smashed, roses are tiny, no symmetry to the trimming, and parts of the chocolate cake pop through. Also tons of cracks in the icing. So this morning I come to pick up the cake and the praying hands are purple. The cake looks horrible and I paid 101$ for this cake. So if you want a cake I would recommend that you don’t come to this location because you won’t get what you’re paying for or anything like the cakes displayed in the cases. And they don’t care and feel like saying Sorry makes it right.
