I attempted to order a wedding cake from Heitzman Bakery. However, three days after placing the order, I discovered that my mother-in-law had already arranged for a cake. Consequently, I promptly canceled my order in January. However, it's now April, and I've been engaged in ongoing phone calls with Heitzman Bakery regarding my refund. Unfortunately, they have either refused to reimburse me or abruptly terminated the calls. Regrettably, I cannot recommend conducting business with them based on my experience.

I had an experience with Heitzman Bakery that I feel compelled to share. Several months ago, I decided to order a wedding cake from them. After carefully selecting the design and flavors, I placed my order with excitement. However, just three days later, I was informed by my mother-in-law that she had already arranged for a cake for the wedding. Understandably, I needed to cancel my order with Heitzman Bakery. In January, I reached out to the bakery to cancel the order and request a refund. Unfortunately, what ensued was a frustrating and disappointing ordeal. Despite numerous attempts to communicate with them via phone calls, I found myself caught in a cycle of frustration. They either outright refused to process my refund or simply hung up on me during our conversations. As the months passed, I continued to reach out to Heitzman Bakery in the hopes of resolving the situation amicably. However, my efforts were met with resistance and unprofessional behavior on their part. It's now April, and I still find myself without a resolution to this matter. Reflecting on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Heitzman Bakery to anyone seeking baked goods or services for their special occasions. The lack of customer service and disregard for resolving issues in a timely and professional manner is deeply concerning. It's disheartening to encounter such a lack of integrity in a business, especially when it pertains to an event as significant as a wedding.

I love this place. There has been a few times that I have went in on a whim to get a cake order and they accomodate every time. I am completely grateful for this. The staff is always sweet and the cakes are always delicious. Couldn't ask for much more honestly.

I called this location, Bardstown Rd, Wednesday afternoon and spoke with a gentleman, who informed me that they were going to be open on Thanksgiving day. We drove to this location, this morning, and they were closed. Not very professional, if you ask me!!

If I could give this place a ZERO I would. I ordered a cake for my dads 90th birthday. They had a design of praying hands I said I wanted it just like what they had. I wanted the trim to have purple and grey because the praying hands was grey. As you can see in the pictures the cake is slanted, icing is smashed, roses are tiny, no symmetry to the trimming, and parts of the chocolate cake pop through. Also tons of cracks in the icing. So this morning I come to pick up the cake and the praying hands are purple. The cake looks horrible and I paid 101$ for this cake. So if you want a cake I would recommend that you don’t come to this location because you won’t get what you’re paying for or anything like the cakes displayed in the cases. And they don’t care and feel like saying Sorry makes it right.

Heitzman bakery pulls out another emergency cake for a wonderful birthday. On a busy day they bent over backwards to accommodate a cake idea needed for a sunset summer birthday party. Thank you Heitzman everything was delicious.

The past few Weeks they have not been dipping the Petit Fours in icing.I'm not paying $8 for 4 small pieces of cake......I got 2 boxes of the petit fours from Kroger for my birthday April 25th batch. They were Not Dipped in Fondant icing like they have been in the past. They just had the icing on top, nothing on the sides... I was really disappointed.I went to the bakery May4th, saw they had petit fours done the correct way. I was so upset that the bakery had them dipped in was talking with the older lady about it. She didn't really care. Didn't offer me a replacement of them.Seems like someone isn't dipping them in fondant icing for the Kroger stores.
(Update Below)I bought some cheese danishes from their stand at Kroger. OMG they were phenomenal!!! So I immediately got on Google to leave a glowing review and I see.... BAD reviews. Enough to make me pause. After a handful of days.I buy another round of cheese danishes... YIKES! Overcooked, dry yet somehow DRIPPING!!!3/22/23 - I bought more from Kroger. They were fantastic!!! Maybe I just got an unlucky batch, I'm changing my review because they are seriously delicious!!! ?

Purchased Heitzman King Cake from Kroger. It was completely burnt on the bottom. Threw it out. Heitzman hasn’t lived up to their former quality in a very long time.

I'm sorry that this is about a year old. I'm sure your bakery is very good. I came last year because I NEVER tasted a King Cake and wanted to try one. I LOVE CINNAMON AND CREAM CHEESE, so I was very excited. But, the cake was YUCKY ! The cinnamon was not very noticeable in the cake. The man said that there was a lot of cinnamon in it. There wasn't.The cream cheese did NOT really taste like cream cheese. And, the cake was SO BIG ! You should start selling a smaller size, also, for people who have never tried it..... especially if it's only for 1 or 2 people. I bought it just for my husband and me. I ended up throwing half away. But, IT WAS PRETTY ! Another reason I wanted one. Especially, coming from Jeffersonville, Indiana, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED ! SORRY.

Called to place an order for a cookie cake for my daughter's birthday and the man who answered was extremely rude. I was having a hard time understanding what he said due to him speaking so fast. I repeated what I thought he said and he responded with an attitude. Extremely rude!!! Called the location on Shelbyville Rd , they were so nice and patient with me. I live 5 minutes from the Bardstown Rd location but I will never go there. If you want respectful customer service go to the Shelbyville Rd location. Highly recommend AVOIDING the Bardstown Rd location!
