The best place for your coffee fix!! Awesome prices with even better flavoring

Highland coffee company is a very popular coffee shop and brunch and pastry place located in you guessed it..the popular highlands neighborhood of Lousiville Kentucky. Just off the crowded and famed bardstown road strip of the neighborhood. They have an extremely large and private parking lot. This is a huge plus as most highland establishments do not have this. So for people who have two thumbs and hate street parking (I just put double thumbs to my chest) this is a sigh of relief. I finally scratched this establishment off my wish list today when I visited with my wife and daughters. We sampled the heck out of the menu. I personally got a cookies and cream blend (very good), a chocolate croissant (top notch with great flakey bread and chocolate taste, and a tempeh sausage panini (not bad although I didn't know tempeh was tofu so that was a surprise) . My wife and kids for drinks got a fruit passion tea, a hot chocolate and a salted caramel mocha. Everyone was a big fan of the drinks and coffees. I sampled my daughters hot chocolate because she has a little appetite and can't hang and it was maybe the best hot chocolate I've every tasted. Very good. For meals and snacks my wife and kids got a chocolate cake (once again nabbed some of This from my light appetite daughter and it was phenomenal), a carrot cake (wife said it was scrumdiddlyumptious), a peach blueberry pie (daughter said dry a bit but good) and my wife also got a Huevos rancheros panini which was green and very gross looking to me but she said was phenomenal. The decor here was very homey and nice. They had a sign that said "hot joe" that stroked my ego some. We sat a nice comfy leather couch that my one year old took full advantage off with a 5 min power nap. Pricing wasn't bad at all. For everything we got it was just over $50. Service was fast and good. Maybe took 5-7 minutes to get our whole order. Overall this was a great experience. Cool place. I love the giant coffee cup out front above the doors. Awesome drinks and very good food and pastries. It's a shame I Waited this long to try this place. Me and my family will absolutely be back. Looking at the schedule and they have pretty long hours for a coffee shop. So even more perks to This place. Worth scratching off your wish list if you are like me and had it sitting there for awhile.

Love this shop! The staff is always super happy and ready to help. They have so many vegan and gluten friendly options. They’re very well priced and is in my top coffee shops in Louisville! Highly recommend

Honestly, everything, including food items tastes like it came from Costco or Wal-Mart. You can brew better coffee at home.

If you're a coffee connoisseur then this is a good place to check out. Fun, friendly and knowledgeable staff with high quality crafted coffees and teas. Baked goods, if you're into that kind of thing, And they make their own whip cream! Highly recommend it.

Excellent local spot with a robust menu that's vegan and vegetarian friendly. If the lack of meat options disturbs you, head over to Heine Brothers. Despite being fairly keen on usual breakfast options (bacon, sausage) myself you don't even miss the meat here. My usual is a blended Kona Mocha, a spinach feta croissant, and a carrot cupcake for later. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and prompt service.

I admittedly haven't been to every coffee shop in louisville. And I may or may not be the preferred review as I don't drink coffee (but I drink coffee drinks. Like mochas and such, as well as tea, etc) but highland is my very favorite coffee shop of all that I've been to. Mcquiote is a close second (but is occasionally first depending on the day and my mood) but highland has the variety. The space. The ambiance. (Even in covid. They s*** down indoor seating and did an amazing job of helping to guide social distancing and added seating outdoors) They overcame urban outfitters totally overtaking their sight real estate and marketability and continue to rock it with the best drink selection in town. Try the marshmallow whip on whatever you get. ;) you can thank me later.

Vegan options! They serve breakfast and some lunch items. They have explained outdoor seating into the parking lot - lots of outdoor seating.

I was in line to order coffee and the Cashier was having a long chatty conversation with a friend as if I had nothing to do but wait in the conversation to end. After waiting in line for 15 minutes and not being acknowledged as a customer I left. Very Rude!

Love, love, love Highlands Coffee. Great vibes, coffees, and food. I think the thing I love the most are the flavored whipped creams. My only complaint is that it's nowhere close to where I live, so I find myself driving 25 minutes out of the way.

Highland Coffee is exceptional during COVID. The cafe has put away all of its indoor seating, and outdoor seating has been extended to the parking lot, where some turf, new shade, and new chairs have been set up. I grabbed an afternoon oat milk latte, which was delicious, as well as a spinach and feta croissant. The croissant was grilled on a panini press, not just microwaved, which made it crispy and amazing. All the staff were super friendly and personable, and you can tell that many of Highland's patrons are regulars! Overall felt very safe and satisfied with my visit. Will certainly be back!

Not sure why I've never reviewed this place. Highland is my local coffeeshop of choice. As long as you know where it is (so goes the running joke)! They always have a friendly staff. You will leave with a smile on your face. They have taken COVID seriously and are strictly adhering to social distancing and outdoor dining policies - part of their parking lot is now reserved for seating, too. They have great breakfast wraps and lunch paninis (be sure to get some pepper butter!) and they of course, dessert options for any time of day. They're even vegan friendly, and they can tell you all about which things to avoid if you have food allergies.Bottom line - this is THE meeting spot for the Highlands. You never know who you'll run into when you're sitting there drinking your roast. They've got options for the aficionados, but their menu isn't so complicated that your head hurts trying to make a decision. It's a great local spot and I highly recommend!
