Very much a brunch place, but they put a twist on some of the items as well and has it's own distinct vibe. Tried the eggs benedict with a southwest vibe and it was definitely different. Added a side of pancakes as well and it was great. Service was excellent and looked like plenty of seating inside and outside. They have won many awards locally so worth checking out.

On a busy sunday morning my aunt and I walked up and got on the list, and we're told that if we wanted to sit at one of the tables outside, we could just grab one.
Boom. A happy server showed up. Got our drink? Orders give us the menus and then came back and took our order. Piping hot coffee! Ice water with lemon- She kept everything squared away. My aunt ordered a traditional breakfast and it was perfect.I ordered the huevos rancheros. A side of crispy bacon completed this wonderful meal. I never got to see the inside of the place. I'm sure that it's a wonderful experience inside as well. Take a look at the menu. It has a broad range of choices to pick from. It's also most impressive and greatly appreciated that you can order breakfast anytime. You can order any meal on the menu anytime.
Our meals were perfect. Our service was exceptional. I'm going back.

I walked in and sat down and watch three other people come in get served get their food and I’m still waiting just for my order to be taken. I’ll look around the room. I’m the only African-American sitting there so I know what this mean right off don’t go there if you wanna be served

Biscuits & Gravy. That is all that truly needs to be said and all the convincing anyone would need for this gem of a restaurant.
If that doesn’t convince you, then the staff will with their friendly and fun demeanor. Great recommendations come from the staff and they really know how to make a SPICY Bloody Mary to go with your breakfast.

We had breakfast on Sunday. Seemed busy. Food was ok, my wife's food was cold on arrival though. My omelette was good. Seemed expensive for what we bought. Service was fine.

Dined in on a Wednesday at 11am. Street parking was available a few blocks away in front of residences. Restaurant was not busy at all, we were seated immediately. Ordered a brunch cocktail, which was the best part of the visit. The server was polite and helpful, no problems there. The food, however... the Monte Cristo is not a traditional Monte Cristo. To be fair, it is clearly described on the menu as a french toast sandwich... but still named as a Monte Cristo. The toast was typical sliced bread. The meats seemed like cheap lunchmeat, and the preserves seemed like cheap jelly. This offering was 11.79. The Ultimate Crab Cake Benedict was a disaster. The crab cakes seemed pre-packaged, but were described as handmade. The "poached" eggs were cooked solid. At 16.99, this was a massive disappointment. The biscuits and gravy were fair to middling. After the experience with the other dishes, it was a bit of a surprise that the gravy didn't seem like it came from a can. At half the price, this meal would be acceptable. We ate all of our food, but the price was very hard to swallow. We will not return, and would not recommend Highland Morning based on our first and final visit.
Parking: We found parking several blocks away in front of residences.
