Came in Saturday evening and were the only customers in line, the young girl that was helping us was rushing us through our order and did not make us feel welcomed, she didnt seem happy in the slightest to help us get a few things; she actually seemed rather annoyed that we were trying to make a purchase. Sorry for bringing my business here next time I guess I should try another location with a more pleasant staff
This place not only has ice cream and pie, but they have homemade sherbert. I love sherbert and this is the only place I know that serves grape! Clean place and friendly staff.
Key lime pie was terrible! Tasted like play dough :(
Stopped by for my free slice of birthday cake. Excellent staff and delicious, moist slice of strawberry cake. Can't wait to go back!
Brittany at Fern Creek store was amazing. She was very helpful and professional and got us together for last minute treats for our son’s birthday!
my husband and I went to this establishment. The lady working was very nice. The pies however, are very disappointing. The pies taste old the pecan pie tasted so old and all the pies in the case look dry nothing looked fresh.
Had to get pie for National Pi day on March 14th. It's my yearly tradition.
So I normally get the chocolate cake, which is very good. Today I wanted something citrusy. They were out of a lot of items, including the lemon meringue pie that I wanted, because yesterday was Pi Day, which was somewhat understandable. I asked for key lime pie instead, and after trying for a solid five minutes, the poor kid trying to serve me presented a piece of pie with zero, and I mean zero filling. I said no thanks and left.
This seemed strange and I thought maybe it was a one-off. But reading the reviews here, it seems like there might be a pattern of producing pies with very little filling - especially meringue pies, which you can't examine until they're actually cut.
I then drove 2 minutes down the street to Plehn's Bakery and picked up an entire lemon meringue pie - with plenty of delicious lemon filling - for a mere $13, less than half the cost of a whole pie from Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen.
To be clear, I'm not mad at the young staff member who cut the key lime pie. I'm concerned that this place might have a pattern of trying to rip people off, at least with their meringue pies.
I do still recommend the chocolate cake, however.
Every year we order snickerdoodle cupcakes for my Birthday and every year they are so good!

I ordered two cakes and picked up several individual cupcakes and cookies. These were special order cakes for a family birthday. I was soo embarrassed that no one was able to eat the birthday cake. SO STALE !!! The icing was hard and just fell off the cupcakes and cake. One cake(German Chocolate )was edible out of all the items THANK GOODNESS ! So disappointed!

Real issue is not with the desserts, but with website. When you select 'for pickup' it defaults to 'Delivery' and demands delivery address. Do the I.T. guys NOT check their poor work? Or does management decide to NOT simply check the user unfriendly website themselves? WHAT A JOKE!

It is so frustrating when businesses close earlier than their posted times. They are supposed to close at 10:00pm. We arrived tonight at 9:40pm, but they already had the doors locked, were cleaning and counting the drawer. When we motioned confused, a worker just threw his hands up and shrugged. The only silver lining is that it was so early we had enough time to drive to the Bardstown Rd location. The Lexington Rd location should probably just close down, if they are going to lock the doors during operating hours.

Over the weekend I placed an order for a half sheet cake for my daughter’s baptism at the Highlands Pie Kitchen. When I picked it up I was absolutely SHOCKED at how bad the quality was. The writing was in print, and there were no decorative roses at all. I immediately called the Pie Kitchen in Fern Creek & asked if their baker had better penmanship and could fix the cake and they were working on my cake within 10 minutes. Their amazing baker Lance spent 45 minutes of his time redoing the cake and made it beautiful!!! I cannot thank the workers and Lance at the Fern Creek location enough for saving the day!
I ordered a coconut cream pie and what I got was mostly cream. It was barely a pie. I’ve never ordered a coconut pie and only received cream. I tried to tell the lady that on the phone but she was getting defensive and hung up on me. Waste of $30 I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. This was my first time ordering from this location. Never again will I order from this location smh. She claimed it was pie pudding but when did I order pie pudding?? Smh shame. I tried to cut it into slices once I got home and realized there was no pie. The little crust created the illusion that there was pie underneath but it was only a bunch of cream. Don’t try to argue with me because you don’t know what a pie is. That’s nothing to get defensive about. I should get a full refund for this fraud of a pie.
