Cool little bar. Good service.
The back room was home to the largest roaches I've ever seen. I threw a saddle on one and rode it home. Saved me from having to pay for a lyft.

I came to a comedy event and was super supportive. I was saying things like, yes!!” And “I agree” and, “you’re right!!” Those were the only words I said, quite literally! And was told to “stop talking so much” and to “be quieter” and “not speak” when I was really really truly and honestly supporting the comedians. I wasn’t heckling, I certainly wasn’t arguing, I wasn’t being disagreeable, I wasn’t being negative in any way, shape , or form. But yet I was approached by a man who told me to take up less space, to be quieter, and to stop speaking. It really, really hurt my feelings. Actually, I am beyond hurt. I’m so sad and discouraged, I’m heartbroken. I’m hurting, triggered, and defeated. My heart is literally broken. To be a woman and to be told that I’m taking up too much space when I have done nothing but try to be supportive, and to be told to be quieter when I was trying to be encouraging is absolutely triggering. I’m so so so sad. I thought kaiju was a safe space for me. And now it’s not. I’m heartbroken. I was really excited for this event too! I wanted to see all the comics but instead I had to leave early. I was met with being told to take up less space and to be quiet, even though my entire voice this evening was entirely dedicated to supporting the comics! I have no idea why this happened and I’m so so so incredibly sad and defeated. I’m taking this as a sign that I don’t belong here at all and that I need to leave Louisville. Maybe that’s true. And maybe I will leave. But whether that happens or not, I won’t be back to kaiju. And it kills my soul to say that. Kaiju broke my spirit. And I’m so hurt by what happened. Now I can’t go back because I’m so incredibly hurt and saddened by what happened in response to my pure joy and support and honor for the comedians. The comedians on stage responded to me by saying things like, “yeah this girl gets it!!” And “thank you for the support” and “oh man I’m so glad you understand!” But yet kaiju security wanted me to be smaller and quieter. And I don’t understand. I’m so so defeated and sad and disheartened. I can never go back. I want to but this has broken me. My spirit it broken.

It was loud and seemed dangerous. I will not be back. I felt unsafe the whole time and walking to my car was terrifying.
