It’s a great place to eat, it’s just never open when it says it’s open

Miserable small serving of tuna salad on compressed Kaiser bun. Expensive. No garnish, slice of cheese hanging out the side. Nothing special about the tuna. Definitely not what I expected from a well established and reputable local business. One small side of pasta salad, fair.

This was our first time eating here but it won't be our last! It's a small little restaurant. I think there were about 10 tables, my mom and I went for lunch and it was the perfect place to sit and have a quiet lunch. We went because we wanted to try the Reuben but sadly they were out of that on that day. So we decided to split the hot brown and the Benedictine and bacon. I think I should be glad they were out of the Reuben because oh my goodness- both of those other items were oh so good! The hot brown was comfort on a plate, it was warm and delicious. The bacon was fantastic, the turkey was great, the bread was not too soggy. Everything you want a hot brown to be. That Benedictine and bacon sandwich was oh my lawd. I don't know that I have ever had better Benedictine and I've had a lot of Benedictine that I have loved lol. I'm still thinking about that. Benedictine. I've thought about calling them and asking if I can buy the Benedictine by the bowl.
The staff were super friendly, another lady came in and sat at a table close to us where the staff were rolling silverware and talking and she told them to bring us a cupcake. I'm not sure who she was if she was a manager or an owner, but she was super funny and very friendly. She gave us some history of the owners. And a delicious cupcake!
The only thing that would have made our visit better is if we could have ordered drinks as in an alcoholic drink, but that doesn't have anything to do with the food🙂 it was a fantastic lunch. I definitely recommend trying this cute little Cafe out if you have not.

Really, really good burger! My companion had the Benedictine on a croissant and I had a nibble of that and it was also top tier. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and that option was great. Service was A+ and the iced tea was perfect. Will definitely be back because I have been thinking about the burger ever since!

I had the Ruben 10/10. Best one I’ve had in years. The hummus plate is a must as well. My wife had the buffalo chicken quesadilla very good as well. The only down side to this restaurant with AMAZING food is its small. I would suggest going during the off hours. We went at 2:00 and was surprised that there were plenty of seats. Especially considering how delicious the food is.

There were 14 of us, and the food was delicious but the room is very lively and so it was sometimes difficult to understand the conversations. That being said, we had a private room and were very well taken care of.

Great place. One of are favorites in louisville
Worst service we have ever experienced at any restaurant. Arrived this evening at 5:36 pm (per Life 360), at 6:50 still had not received our order. Three other parties arriving after we arrived ordered and received their meals before us. The hostess and waiter recognized there was an issue, but continued to ignore the problem. We were told several times our order would be right out. We decided to leave told the waiter we had been there an hour and 15 minutes and he corrected us and said it had only been 40 minutes. That was very an inappropriate thing to say to a customer. We have been a customer of the restaurant for years. I rave to people about the hot brown and other dishes. I’m not sure if we will ever return.

The food here is very good, I had the turkey Reuben and fries and my friend had a Benedictine sandwich and sweet potato fries. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries if you go! It really lacked in service for us, though. We were there at 11:30 for lunch and didn’t leave until 1. It was not full when we got there and there were 2 servers who didn’t seem very busy. My friend got her food almost 10 minutes before I did, they cited a kitchen order issue, it also took an incredibly long time to get our checks, we ended up having to ask twice. I felt ignored and frustrated by the end of our lunch date, but the fries I took leftover were still great air fried so that’s a plus.

Vegetable soup was burnt red colored and very acidic. Tasted like V8 with canned vegetables added. Rueben was decent but way too much sauerkraut and not enough turkey.
Local and always great food and times
