Had a great visit at Mom’s Kitchen! Wonderful selection of entrees on the All-Day (for now) buffet. Really enjoyed the Chili Chicken and Curry Chicken. And the garlic naan was outstanding! Great service and laid-back atmosphere. Hope this place does well!

Review is solely for the Indian portion of the menu.

I want to really love this place, but I’m on the fence. The first couple of times I went, the chicken tikka masala had super flavorful pieces of chicken. This latest time the chicken didn’t taste like much, and tasted like run of the mill under seasoned chicken breast that was pretty dry. The rice tasted too much like cloves or something I didn’t care for, and there was not enough sauce for the large amount of rice at the bottom of the container.

Also, while I was told the naan is home made, it doesn’t have the chewy, flakey, bubbly texture of great naan. It didn’t have those tasty crispy charred spots. The naan is wrapped up in foil to steam and just tasted like a garlic flavored pita. I would suggest they default to butter naan, work on their cooking technique, and don’t wrap it up tightly in foil. They need to work on their reheating technique if they aren’t going to cook the naan to order. Reheat them in a pan or something. During the reheating process, garlic could be added if a customer prefers. I don’t know, it seems like a missed opportunity of home made naan, because it tasted pre-made to me. Bombay Grill and Tikka House have some pretty stellar butter naan, which I love, but after trying the naan here I am sad to say that it isn’t that great.

Also, they should offer a regular and large portion, and charge less for the regular size. For a quick lunch, the price is too high and the quantity too much. For dinner if the intention is to split, the larger size and higher price is OK, but the total price with naan is over $20. Lunch should offer an entree and naan for under $15 total. $12.99 or $13.99 would be a good target.

I think this place has potential to be really great, but as it stands, I am not sure how often I will be visiting.

Mmmm! I love Indian food, and I was delighted to discover Mom’s today. It lets me eat my favorites like channa masala at a more affordable price. It’s an over the counter place, but service was fine! They explained all their details and prices and let me sample some. I’ll be back!
