Las Margaritas Mexican Cuisine

I’ve never seen a $10.99 lunch carnitas plate with such a tiny serving of carnitas. We even brought it to the attention of two different employees, and they basically said that this is the lunch size. Seriously, I thought that they brought us the kids plate. This might be enough for a 6 year old, but it is not NEARLY enough carnitas for an adult lunch. The main competition offers a $9 carnitas lunch with more than double the amount of pork. I won’t be back.

Delicious food. Great atmosphere and a hidde Gem . I should have taken pics, but my food was delicious. Had the Chichinita pibil and guisado rojo. 🤤

On the plus side, there was a very generous portion of chicken in my quesadilla rellena. However, that was the extent of the positives of this place. The food was underwhelming, sure, but the service was dreadful.

First, the waiter asked my male partner what he wanted to drink before asking me. Second, someone whisked my partner's plate away the second he was done, even though I hadn't even started eating my food yet because I was waiting for sour cream. I guess I can't fault them too much for that because it seems like every restaurant does it even though it's rude. But the worst thing was that while I was in the middle of one of my very first bites, and had obviously hardly even touched my food yet, someone else came up and asked me if I wanted a box. I mean, yes, I wanted a box, but they absolutely could not wait for us to get out of there, for some reason. It wasn't crowded (and I can see why), we weren't there particularly late, and we didn't take that long, so I don't know what their problem was.

I would give this place a miss - there are so many better options for Mexican food in Louisville.

Came in for takeout, everyone working was eager and kind. My enchiladas were delicious and I got free FRESH chips and salsa that I didn’t even ask for ? THANK YOU for awesome service and food!

Las Margaritas sets the bar for Mexican/Mayan food. Definitely authentic, friendly, very reasonable prices. I usually get the cochinita pibil slow roasted pork (amazing). Last night I ordered bone in fish, which I've never ordered anywhere... it was delicious!

Skip the line at Havana Rumba. You're in for a treat!

This is one of our favorite mexican restaurants in Louisville. Rarely crowded. Good drinks, great service and maybe the best mole in Louisville.
