Lonnie's Best Taste of Chicago

I moved away from Chicago almost 20 years ago. this brought me right back. I haven't had a real combo beef since I left. this wasn't just wet, it had a full on baptism! well be back soon!

Great hotdogs! when i'm in area i always get the best around. I even drive 45 minutes to get some for the wife.

Delicious and awesome service. So glad I stopped.

It was my first time stopping at this restaurant, and it was not bad. I ordered a hotdog frie and a drink. the dog was good, but the bun was not fresh. like it had been out too long,then I ordered a polish witch was a hotdog. He claims chicago Street Food, but he is way off. overall, it's not bad for fast food, but it does not compare to a chicago hotdog or a deep-fried polish

Clark st Chicago dogs are delicious. Fresh crunchy cucumbers, flavorful tomatoes— the perfect amount of sauces. The crunch of the onions and the real beef hot dog on the chewy poppyseed bun it’s perfection. It hits the spot everyday at lunch with a fizzy cream soda and some of their crinkle cut fries cooked perfectly. Not too soggy not crunchy. This place is amazing and for $10 I get a filling meal I continue to come back to. The seasoning on the Chicago dogs tastes so good— I suppose it’s celery salt or something. So delicious! I could eat it everyday for lunch and I often come multiple times a week.

Parking: Only a few spots in front of restaurant for parking. Hard to get out once you’re in because of through traffic.

For the rating this place had, I was expecting way way better hogs and food in general. All can taste is tomatoe sauce from the chili, and they toped them with nacho cheese sauce. The wife's hamburger had what we think was pieces of bone in it. The fries? I'm not sure what they did with those they were kind of translucent, like they were soaking in oil, then re-dunked in the fryer? Anyway, I won't be back and and I think I need something to get this taste out of my mouth...

Quaint little beef restaurant. The food was amazing! We love Chicago beefs and dogs. This is tge closest you'll get! Owners were friendly as well. Wish I had food pics but we ate it all so quickly ?
Will definitely be back!

The Chicago dog was as close to the original Chicago dog as possible. They use cucumber slices here instead of pickle strips still tasty ?. Tried the chili cheese dog, too. It was good. The fries and onion rings were delicious and hot out of the fryer. There are no refills on the Coca-Cola products they serve.

Parking: There is a small alley next to Lonnie's to park in the back. There are concrete poles, so be careful. There is parking next door also. It is tight but parkable.
