Long wait at 1:50pm in the afternoon. The buns were microwaved and soggy. The hot dogs were good. Fries were overcooked and very oily. We did enjoy the beefsteak and cheese. The music playing under the counter was overbearing.
Read about this place in the Leo a few years ago. Took a buddy along, telling him about the italian beef, I grew up on,( I'm from Chicago). Was not disappointed, my friend was hooked as well. Lonnie and Diane, are great people. I moved to Indiana a couple of years ago, and lost out. Now I hear they're retiring good for them,a big loss for Louisville. Wishing you both nothing but the best.
I’ve been to a few restaurants in Louisville trying to find the authentic Chicago hotdog. Lonnie’s has it they also have a very good Chicago beef hoagie it’s about as close to Chicago as you’re gonna get in Louisville excellent Service and food I’m assuming it was the owners working there !!! very friendly people would recommend 10 out of 10 definitely gonna eat there again
