Great cocktails, tasty food. I have eaten here several times before attending plays at Actor's Theatre and have had great service and good food every time. Even more times, I have enjoyed a pre-show cocktail here. Their specialty drink were always really interesting, surprising and delicious. The bartenders were always friendly and knowledgeable, happy to talk shop, and eager to make recommendations. Drinks were priced fairly similarly to the ones available at the concessions in the theatre....only these were better. AND if you told them you wanted to take it in to the show with you, they would put it in a disposable cup for you. I was looking forward to a return trip after the pandemic subsided some, but recently it was announced that they would be closing and re-opening as a community kitchen. Edward Lee is a great citizen in our city, and I am proud of what he is doing in these strange times. Farewell, MilkWood.

We were looking for a place to eat before seeing a play and luckily Milkwood was actually below the place we were going to. Milkwood is known for their Ramen but since I try to avoid Ramen we went with the wings. They were good however it felt like there was not enough meat on them so it was a little disappointing. The prices are fair and we got our food quick. It's not my first place to go to but if someone else wants to go, I won't object

Really good barbecue and beer selection. My friends both had the brisket, one sliced and one chopped and I had the pulled pork. All were really good. Meat comes without sauce, the way any good barbecue joint does it. There were three types of sauce at the table that all were a sty as well. Sides were fairly standard but good overall. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.

Had a great dinner here when we stopped in based on past reviews. First the service was excellent. It's also a cool place below street level with a large bar. Started with the eel and octopus. The eel was better but both were great. Had the strip steak for dinner which was also excellent. The chess pie dessert was a great finish to the meal. Overall an excellent choice for dinner in Louisville.

Sadly MilkWood is extremely understaffed and underperforming tonight. The crew is doing the best they can but to no avail. Unfortunate for one of our favorite pre-concert spots.

Looking at Milkwood's menu, you'll notice their knack for mixing sweet, sour, savory, spicy and salty throughout their entire menu, from cocktails all the way through to dessert. The restaurant was an experience, to say the least. Louisville, KY has truly great culinary minds at work, and Milkwood is probably one of the most notable examples of this. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the experience was incredible from top to bottom.

What a cool place! Simple, small menu but fitting for the setting. We had the wings and they were absolutely delicious. I loved the Milkwood cocktail, it was really tasty.
