Mussel & Burger Bar

We showed up in their last few hours of them being opening, and they were so kind to us. There were some people in our group with severe allergies and accommodations which required us to eat outside. Not only did they allow us to eat on the otherwise empty patio, but they were also very understanding and thorough regarding allergy requirements with those who needed them. Every employee we interacted with was exemplary, and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great burgers (duh) but have other dishes as well. The steak fries are a little too big (almost a whole potato it seemed) so stick with the regular ones.

A bit pricey but the food was hot & delicious. Crab cakes crazy expensive. Service was great.....need some music & more fans on the outside deck!

I'm not usually a burger guy but I'll definitely come back and try more of the burgers they have! They are really good!

Our favorite burger in the city. Go to order is the southern belle with the mac and cheese app! And the sweet potato fries are always perfect

Bacon burger and club sandwich were both excellent and the fries were great. Very good sweet tea also.

This place is a 10/10! The atmosphere and staff were AMAZING!! We came to Louisville for the day to find my wedding dress. After I said yes to the dress we decided to try Mussel and Burger Bar! They made my day 1000x extra special, took care of my food and drinks, and even gave me a platter of desserts to try! We are coming back to Louisville for my bachelorette and we will definitely be visiting this place again! The seafood burger was also delicious!

We had a large party for a very special day- my daughter was saying “Yes” to the dress that day. They were so accommodating and went above and beyond for us! i can’t say enough good about the restaurant and staff here! We will go back for sure!!!

The burger and the sandwiches used to be good when I first tried it out but now the quality is now lacking pretty bad because the meat in the burger starts to tastes pretty bland and greasy, I also ordered a mushroom Philly with meat and it was also greasy, the beef in the sandwich had some slimy texture. I spat out both of the burger and the sandwich. I don’t think I’ll be able to come back to pay extra just for something that doesn’t taste good anymore.

Edited: The “Pommes Frites” is going to be a hit or miss. Sometimes it’ll be very oily, the other will be very crispy depending on how often you’ll stopped by to grab a bite.

Dinner Service and Arrival
We had a 6 pm reservation for a date night at the restaurant, expecting a pleasant evening. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. We requested a booth but were told it wasn’t available, supposedly due to the need for a reservation—despite the fact that we had a reservation. This felt confusing and left us seated awkwardly at a corner table, far from the ambiance of the main dining area. It felt more like being placed in someone’s kitchen than a restaurant setting, especially since we were so close to the bar. The atmosphere was lacking, making our date night disappointing. Additionally, our waitress was uncomfortable and awkward, further dampening the experience. It became clear that larger groups were prioritized over smaller parties like ours, likely for financial reasons, leaving us feeling undervalued and overlooked. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Food
The meal was underwhelming. We ordered the mini tacos appetizer, and it was good. The burger was adequately prepared and cooked to the correct temperature but was excessively greasy, leaving the bottom bun so saturated with oil that it became nearly inedible.
