As far as local steakhouses go, the experience Pat's Steak House offers is hard to beat. Pat's charming atmosphere, fantastic service and great food really drive home the fact it's been a Louisville staple for decades. Would recommend to any and all.

Parking: A ton of parking along the sides and back of restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: Decent size kids menu with many good options.

The atmosphere takes me back to when the world moved slower. Beautiful wood interior and soft lighting enhances the dining experience. Elijah and other waiters were very attentive and friendly. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and since it was my granddaughter’s birthday, they brought her a super hot fudge ice cream brownie!!

My favorite restaurant in Louisville, and has been for more than twenty years.

Pat greeted us at the door, we both had the New York strip with green beans and hash browns and as per usual, it was the best dining experience you could ask for.

I consider myself capable of making a very good steak but I can't come close to what Pat's can do. The crust was incredible, cooked medium rare to perfection and lightly seasoned, as any good steak should be. The green beans are to die for and the hash browns were right to balance everything out.

The service is top notch. Pat's doesn't hire bad people. You are going to get the best there is. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate but in a natural way, not some engineered experience that someone paid tens of thousands to curate. It reminds me of the best steakhouses in Chicago - old school.

Honestly it's my favorite restaurant, and part of the reason is the consistency. I've never had a bad meal or experience there, after who knows how many dinners over all of these years; I can always rely on Pat's to do things traditionally and absolutely right, every time.

Of course I recommend Pat's, and I will be back again myself.

Its not cheap, but its worth every penny. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Been a family favorite since we found it in 97, and we've yet to be disappointed yet.

I don’t understand the hype. The food was bland and some of the menu items are way overpriced. $7.50 for a soft drink and an additional $7.50 each time you get a refill. $7 for a house salad that consisted of lettuce, two slices of tomato and one slice of cucumber. I don’t mind paying a higher price for great food, but we would have had a better experience at Texas Roadhouse for a lot less money.
The best thing I can say is that our waiter was polite and since we were celebrating our kids school promotions, they brought out an ice cream & brownie sundae for a free desert (which was really good)
Spend your money at another steakhouse.

I'm from Louisville and this place has been here for a very long time. My table spent over $400 after tip for 4 entrees, an appetizer and a few drinks. This was a Father's day meal so at the end of the service they brought out a dessert for Dad that was complimentary, and pretty good. Everyone was really courteous and polite. As for the bad: like others have mentioned, the food was pretty ordinary and bland, especially for the money. Inside it just felt sort of dingy and dated. If you're a Bourbon enthusiast you'll find that their selection is disappointing. It's not to insult the establishment or the people but rather being 100% honest that the food at Texas Roadhouse is better. Or for just a little bit more $ you can go to Jeff Ruby's. The whole experience simply left me feeling just... "meh."

Parking: pull right in off Brownsboro and plenty to choose from.

I was looking forward to eating at Pat's as I had never been there before. I know they want a nostalgic atmosphere, but it was not well done and it felt dirty. Our waiter was rude and impatient. He actually motioned for me to hurry up for my order. Rude and inappropriate. Then the owner came to our table after the meal and engaged in a political conversation insulting our current President. That should never occur from a business owner. Our dinner was not a campaign rally or partisan event. He had no idea what our political persuasion was. So very inappropriate and over the top rude and out of place. He should be smart enough to not engage in controversial conversations with his guests. We all left with a very bad taste in our mouths. Never again!

Terrible experience…I will not be returning to this establishment. Let’s just say the owner needs to check his opinions before he comes to the table.

This restaurant is NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Please take your money to ANY other steakhouse in Louisville. Jeff Ruby's is barely more expensive and infinitely better. For one, you are paying USDA prime steak prices for what is clearly not even close to that quality. The seafood appetizer tasted like it was frozen food from Sam's club. The appetizer descriptions did not state that everything was breaded and fried and it came presented in a sloppy mess on a giant lettuce leaf. It was the worst appetizer I've had at a restaurant. The side dishes were odd and none of them were good. My husbands green beans were somehow dry. Each side dish tasted and looked like hospital food. Even the Key Lime Pie was gross. The steak was cooked properly, which was a highlight of the meal. It was criminally under seasoned, but with salt and pepper wasn't bad. However, it was not even close to worth the cost. A USDA prime steak costs $10-12 dollars more than whatever grade Pat's is serving (wouldn't be shocked if it was choice) .The atmosphere was dirty and dingy. If you want to be an Irish pub, then charge pub prices and serve pub food. Even remotely claiming to be fine dining (or at least charging fine dining prices) when the restaurant is tacky and looks like an 2000s era Applebee's is delusional. The service was average, nothing to write home about. The waiter barely talked to us and it was a very impersonal experience.Pat's sets you up for disappointment with how much they charge for the food. When pay fine dining prices, you expect an experience and high quality food. This food was not even close to high quality, and the experience would have left me disappointed even if the meal cost half as much.People rating this 5 stars have to be friends with the owners or blinded by some nostalgia I don't understand. If this restaurant was brand new, it wouldn't last a month. Spend your money anywhere else.
