was in last Sunday for lunch, had the special it was excellent, great drink from the friendly smiling bartender, then stepped to the dining side once our family arrived, GREAT SERVICE all around and as I said the food was delicious will be returning
The food is good, but service is slow. Brought new people in with me today and I got a cup of Burgoo my friend got a bowl. The bowl was twice as much money and upon getting it realized the bowl was so shallow that the cup of burgoo actually filled the bowl. Said something to the waitress and all she said was sorry, I'll let the owner know. Needless to say I don't think my friend will be back... Highly Disappointed.

Rubbies Southside Grill & Bar has been a popular spot in the area for over thirty years. Known for its delicious food, the restaurant offers dishes like the famous Kentucky Hot Brown, which is among the top three in the area. Customers enjoy the friendly and attentive service, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, blending old-school diner vibes with a barbecue joint feel. The restaurant is kid-friendly, providing high chairs for families, and features a dining area that is separated from the bar, creating a quieter space for diners. Recent reviews highlight the good food, especially the smoked wings, brisket sandwich, and ribeye. Guests appreciate the variety of offerings, such as chicken livers, and the option to enjoy a Guinness with meals. The portions are generous, making it a great place to enjoy a filling meal with friends or family. While the decor may be a bit dated, including funky festive seasonal decor and nostalgic 50s/60s pop icon photos, the quality of the food and service make it a favorite among locals. It can get loud on Saturday nights with karaoke, but many find the lively atmosphere enjoyable.
