Sake a Gogo is a fabulous and neat sushi restaurant in the heart of NuLu, considered Louisville’s standout Japanese restaurant. The architecture and infrastructure is absolutely stunning, capturing the elegance of Japanese culture with Asian décor. The interior design is beautiful, especially the bar area, which has a cool vibe and lively energy. The atmosphere offers a great ambience and an authentic experience.
The food is amazing, phenomenal, delicious, and fabulous. The sushi is pristine, beautifully presented, and authentic. Specific dishes praised include the calamari, lobster butter roll, unagi roll, crispy rice tuna rolls, chicken on skewers, steak on skewers, Wagyu croquettes, and pot stickers. There is a solid selection of sushi and other dishes, with lots of options for those who do not like sushi. The sparkling cold sake, cocktails, and drinks are also great. The quality is very much there, though portions can be smaller.
The staff are very hospitable, welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Service is easy and quick. Valet parking is available. It is a fun spot and a must-visit, perfect for going with friends to share dishes.
