I'm originally from South FL, so needless to say, I've eaten my fair share of amazing Latin American food. My husband and I were so excited to find this place back when we first moved here--and back when Señora Arepa was in their old location--because it was like having a little taste of home.
Fast forward to now, our first time grabbing a meal at the new location, and we couldn't have been more disappointed.
First thing's first, the elephant in the room: the menu prices are OUTRAGEOUS. It felt borderline criminal to be charged over $60 for 3 arepas. Oh, and two of those were vegetarian. If you eat meat, be prepared to up that price even more. Fruit juices? $7 a pop. Tequeños? $15 for what you can literally get in the Miami airport (with airport pricing) for five bucks.
Every time I saw somebody smile at one of the other tables I had to imagine that they'd never had arepas anywhere else and were therefore blissfully unaware that we were all being "arepa'd" by those prices. $18 for a meal primarily composed of beans and corn meal??? I literally need a 15% raise at the office before I can afford to eat here again.
While pretty, the atmosphere changes were also saddening in a way. No more "homey" feeling to be found. Señora Arepa now feels like every other fast casual restaurant in Louisville but with the added bonus of costing as much as finer dining.
The service also left much to be desired, with us having to request everything from sauces (they don't have enough for all the tables) to water, and even the check.
I did give two stars because the food still does taste good, but not nearly good enough to warrant paying 2x as much as I have at any other Columbian or Venezuelan restaurant.
It is our family's favorite restaurant. He is excellent in everything.
Kid-friendliness: Yes, it has a children's menu and the waiters are very kind to them.

Señora Arepa is ridiculously underrated. We came here on a random Monday night with our kids to try it out, and it was one of the best meals we’ve had in Louisville. My advice is to order extra because the leftovers are crazy good reheated. And honestly, the service had no business being as good as it was. The entire staff was attentive, always smiling, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great meal. Can’t wait to come back.
Parking: A few spots in front that are always occupied. Park on the street but do not park in the adjacent lots.
Kid-friendliness: Crayons, kids menu, very patient staff. A+

The food is incredible. It’s seriously so good. It has fresh flavors and spices. There are additional sauces that can be used but I’m not really even sure it’s needed (even though they are tasty). It was our first time here but I’d recommend making a reservation since we got here when it opened and they were pretty busy from the start. Food was served quickly.

Wildly overpriced for the mediocre food and poor service. While the location has an appealing atmosphere and outdoor patio the food was flavorless and the service was horrible; blaming the customer for the servers "order mistake" and didn't refill a single drink the entire meal. Waitress almost felt resentful after the mistake, didn't check on us once until we had to ask for the check. I do not recommend this restaurant.

This is my favorite restaurant in Louisville! I have tried several items off the menu, and every single thing has been delicious! You can not go wrong here!
EDIT: the original review was for the NULU location and was 5 stars. Now that the address has changed to St.M this is the new review: My friends and I tried eating here recently and had a terrible experience. The female hostess with light colored hair & a nose piercing was awful. There was a wait, which is fine, and we asked to put our name down and were going to call the other location to see what their wait time was. She just looked at me and would not take my name. After asking her twice to put my name down with no response, we left.
