This cute lunch spot is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings, and I dropped in for dinner Saturday. I asked if their Granny Smith salad could have a salmon patty on it rather than chicken, and the friendly owner was courteous to accommodate my request, which turned out to be delicious! Shady Lane has its regulars for good reason; the staff are courteous and helpful, the ambiance is filled with character (including a 1958 picture of Marilyn Monroe eating a hamburger at a 1950s style drive-in restaurant), and the food is delicious. It's a perfect casual date spot or for dining alone. As for me, I sat next to the Marilyn Monroe picture and fantasized. Ha! I'm glad I stopped in for dinner. Whether it's dinner or lunch when you visit, I hope you will enjoy your meal and the Shady Lane Cafe atmosphere, should you decide to dine in rather than take out. Everyone I saw dining in or picking up to go orders had smiles on their faces. I now know why. Terrific service and food.

I pull up Saturday evening 730.They're already coming outside to close up shop.. I ask are they closed They said not yet.I ordered a cheeseburger & fries well-done.grabbed ketchup paks got home. Eat half the burger & underneath the bun was a short straight black hair.My hair was in a beanie and it's blonde.What a waste of money & time. Service was not that great but the hair is a now&forever NO GO !!!

Local cafe style eatery with really good food. Best homemade cream of mushroom soup I've ever had. Generous club sandwich. Medium pricing. Limited seating and hours. Our first, but not our last visit. Popular with the locals. If you're in the vicinity of Rudy Lane/Brownsboro Rd. check them out for lunch one day.

I ordered a Brownsboro burger with cheddar cheese and a fried egg with crinkle cut fries today. It was delicious. Not only was the food tremendous, the staff is very friendly. This place is a local gem and I highly recommend for anyone visiting Louisville or locals who have yet to stop by.
