Smokey Bones is an oldie but goodie. Haven't been to one in a decade cuz didn't have one nearby. The mini nacho app was delicious and presented nicely. Chips were standing up. Looked like they had yummy cocktails but we didn't have any. We ordered the "grill" meal. It's literally served on a small grill that has charcoal in it and smoking. So cool. Had bbq ribs, chicken wings, grilled chicken, saisafe and steak. Small pieces. Nice to share! Also had wedge potatoes, peppers and onions. In the middle of grill was bowl of delicious sauce (not one of 4 found on table). Good value for that. Waitress was perfunctory not overly friendly. Nice and neat inside

Everything was great, the food, waiter, facility and prices. We had a total of 26 people, everyone enjoyed their meal.

Traveling over a holiday is never fun, but Smokey Bones Jeffersontown rescued us on Thanksgiving Day when literally just a handful of restaurants were open in all of Louisville, KY. The food was delicious, service was incredible and we cannot thank Smokey Bones enough for being open Thanksgiving 2022

This place is a joke. Their customer service is trash and the general manager, Monica, was absolutely no help in the situation at all. Our server was not clear when we placed our order about the upcharge we were facing. When I placed my order, I was told the ribs would be a couple of dollars more. WRONG! They were $15 more! When our bill came, we were taken aback at the cost. I asked why we were charged so much and he only said, that's how much it is. I spoke to the manager on duty and informed him of what happened and how were misinformed, he argued at first then gave us $10 off (much appreciated), but we were overcharged almost $20 as were also overcharged for our drinks! I wrote a complaint to the online customer service and the general manager emailed me back. When I finally spoke to her, and let her know that we were misinformed, she only wanted to point out that it was listed in the menu. That is absolutely fair but when dining with 2 small children, sometimes those things are missed and I expect my server to give a warning. $15 is NOT a couple of dollars. She let me know that they are using my situation for training now. Good for them, but as the customer, I'm not pleased. So diner BEWARE when eating here. A couple of dollars may be the price of a whole separate meal and the management team is absolutely okay with that. Now with all that being said, there was ONE manager there, Terri, who was absolutely AMAZING! She has been the best ever during our previous dining experiences at this location. This is the second horrible experience we have had here in the last 2 months, both with the same server. Terry took care of us and made us happy to eat here again before, but this last time was the nail in the coffin for us.

I had the Loaded Baked Potatoe with Brisket. It was good , flavorful, and came in a hot plate. So hot I could not touch the plate for a few minutes. Jaime my waiter was most attentive and. he was so kind .

We celebrated my wife’s birthday here. We two would like to have lingered longer, but our crew was done and table turnover, within reason, is a server’s paycheck. We did not feel rushed. Did not get our server’s name but she was good. Saw some negative reviews from August, but our visit was fine. Servings were large. Many choices. I recommend splitting a platter and eating it all there. BBQ, brisket, and ribs are best hot off the grill, not nuked, but it was delicious there.

Salmon was good, salad was good. Broccoli overcooked. "Texas Toast" and the FF's tasted like they had been fried but also put in a steam table. So they were soggy, dry and chewy. Would not order again. The wings (8 pieces...that was confusing) were okay, and we had a full rack of St. Louis Ribs, which were fine, though fatty, but that's the rib issue. Ok for a quick in and out, as long as you're not expecting gourmet.

If you want a great eating experience this is your spot. The staff is friendly, the baby back ribs are spot on perfect. My only issue was they need to add more IPA’s to their draft list.

We went just for a night out. It was great. We had a great server. His name was Jamie. He was very attentive and friendly. They food came out really quick and fresh. They observed Covid protocol really well. We will definitely return again.

While there are always one or two folks oblivious to all outside their electronic devices, most are friendlier than a Heine's or Highland's or Quills. It has a small community feel; sometimes like an intellectual salon of yore. And the coffee! Erin and DJ always greet me with "here or to go"; they know my usual. The atmosphere is always welcoming. I'm so sad about the fire. I hope they can reopen nearby. There's a hole in my routine.

Smokey's Bean is the best especially with Erinns unique and humorous witticisms! 'Smokey's Special Gooey Caramel Latte' is literally optimism in a cup!!!

The only reason I've given Smokey's Bean 5 stars is that I can't give it 6. I was a regular at the old joint on 1st and Burnett, and the new digs are even better. The owner is an amazing person who works like a demon, treats her customers like family, and pays her staff well above minimum wage. Every drink on the menu at Smokey's is superb, but I particularly recommend that you ask for a Cubano (an espresso shot pulled through cane sugar added directly to the coffee pitcher). The coffee comes from local roasters Good Folks (formerly Argo Sons), who roast the best coffee to be found in Louisville. It is then brewed at the best café in Louisville . . . ergo, it is the best coffee in Louisville. As well as this, there are delicious home-made sandwiches, soups, and gourmet cookies. The café was named for Smokey, a beautiful lab-chow mix (very sadly, no longer with us) and a one-of-a-kind, like his mom. So, it's dog-friendly as long as your dog is friendly. Now, for David T from Chicago: unless you explicitly declared your provenance (perhaps you did: many Chicagoans are quite provincial and insecure, for some unknown reason, and need everyone to know that they're from Chicago), I don't see how the owner was supposed to have read your mind. Order, pay, and then, if you must, use the rest-room. It's not the public library. And if you think Old Louisville has some "rough characters", you've had a sheltered existence. Finally, His Royal Uselessness, the councilman for the 6th district of Louisville, would have you believe that he's responsible for revitalization along the Oak Street corridor (he planted some trees! Yay!) In reality, the drivers of Old Louisville's continued renaissance are its hard-working small business owners, including those of Mag, Bottled, Amici, and Smokey's. Perhaps if Mr James stopped needlessly harrassing gay men who are minding their own damn business, he would have time to recognize this fact and do more than pretend to care about one of the most beautiful urban neighborhoods in America.

I bookmarked this several weeks ago and never had the chance to stop in. I visited on a Wednesday morning around 7:30ish. Not a person in the place. It's small but quiet and love the photos that hang on the walls. They also have some lunch and food options too. Looks like these change up though. Check out the favorites on menu in red. My order was made pretty quickly. I drank that drink at fast speed, it was that good! I do wonder how this place is on the evenings or night time. They have been open a year, seems like they may not be around long if they are always this empty. Nice little shop located in Old Louisville! Pls. To visit again. They have their own parking lot! Score!

The staff was extremely rude. A person in my group was berated for using the restroom (after the women in the back told him he could). If you want to hang out at the local coffee shop, get work done, and enjoy some beans, then this is not the place for you. You will have to hold in the urgent need to go to the restroom, or face the wrath of the woman behind the counter.
