Ordered here for the first time, got the blt and potato soup. Both were very good and had a homemade feel to them

I ordered a turkey sandwich with swiss cheese lettuce and tomato. I asked for light mayo and mustard. When I took the sandwich out of its wrapping, it had so much mustard and mayo on it, it was dripping off. It was completely inedible.

And the soup was not edible either. The taste was off. Or maybe it was because the sandwich was so bad, I lost my appetite.

I generally have gotten decent food thers so I was very disappointed this time.

I think it's going to be a while before I go back because I spent fifteen dollars on two things and neither were good. With price is going through the roof I might think twice in the future because if the quality's not there i'm not spending the money.

While this place might be the definition of hole in the wall, their food is always good. It hits the spot when you want that comfort meal.

I would give 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive, but I guess you have rent to pay. I just don't get raises in my retirement benefits to keep up with the economy, makes it harder to get by.

I used to work in McMahan Plaza for years and always loved coming to Soupy's. (We're talking 15+ years.) I always got the chicken salad sandwich and potato soup. I haven't worked there for a while, but whenever I'm in Hikes Point, I like to stop by. Over the last year, every time I come, the sandwich has gotten thinner and thinner. The layers of chicken salad were always thinner than most restaurants, but the flavor was so good, especially with the lettuce, tomato, and pickles, I still loved it. The last few times, it's been getting bad. This time, I could literally see the bread through the chicken salad. It was like it was spread on the bread like mayo. And only about half the bread was even covered. Plus, there was hardly any lettuce and about 2 pickles. Most of my bites had no chicken salad, or anything, at all. It was just stale, awful bread. I got my mother the tuna salad sandwich, and hers was just as bad. She pulled off about half the bread because it tasted so bad and there was nothing on it. She was going to eat half the sandwich and save the rest for later, but ended up eating the "whole" thing (minus all the plain bread she pulled off) because she was hungry and there was no substance to it.

It makes me sad to write this review because I love supporting local, family-owned restaurants. (I'm not sure it's still family-owned. My mother used to know the man who started Soupy's, but I'm assuming he retired.) With the prices going way up and the quality going way down, I'm afraid my family will never go back. Too bad since this used to be a local gem. It's sad that they've cut so many corners to try to make a profit, but, in the end, they're going to lose all their business.

If I could give this place a lower rating I would, too expensive for what you get food is mediocre. I was better off getting McDonald’s than this nasty overpriced place, won’t ever come again and I am telling everybody I know that not to come here.

I had the chili and it was fantastic on this snowy, cold day. Service was fast and friendly.

My $7 benedictine sandwich had about a tablespoon of benedictine. The broccoli soup has no flavor. I like to support local businesses but for the same price I could have had a much better meal at McAlister's or Panera.

I have lived in hikes point most my life and never gave Soupys a try. Today I ordered online and picked up at the store. I got the chicken and dumpling soup, FIRE. And I got the half turkey sandwich.
Good, fresh, friendly staff, and great prices for what you get. I will be back
