First time in Louisville wanted to support a black owned company and get some content. Online it states you were open…tried to ask a question and a lady just kept on yelling they’re closed and wont hear me out.

We are out of towners from the north & felt so welcomed here! The food & drinks great! Jeffrey was the BEST bartender, we sat at the bar and chatted it up with him. So attentive to us but all his customers. Recommended places to check out but also asked us about our home state! We also got to talk with the owner - he went around and talked to each group of people. He genuinely asked how things were.
Would 100% recommend this place!!

Had a great, fun, and safe experience with wonderful friends from college on this night. No drama, great music and vibe. Didn't order any food so can't speak on that. Drink was good, but to me overpriced.

Food was REALLY good. Server was really nice. Owner came around and checked on us. Great music. Drinks were great. Prices are a value for the serving! Atmosphere was chill and upbeat. We’ll be back next time we are in town.

Stood there for 10 mins and didn’t get served but it may be because I’m the wrong color. Nice atmosphere the food looked really good. Did not feel comfortable.

I went there for dinner from my hotel, I ordered the ribs for some reason they tasted strange. Apparently they pretty much just put parsley on every. Menu item. Even the sides are covered in parsley. Overall would not recommend. Try somewhere else like. Mussels

Mixed Feelings, But Still Worth a Visit
I’ve been going to The Gruv for a while now. When I first started coming, I absolutely loved it—the staff was friendly, personable, and made you feel welcome. However, recently with the new hires and staff changes, I haven’t been feeling the same vibe. The friendliness isn’t quite there anymore, and there’s no more table service—you have to order at the window or the bar for drinks.

The last time I visited, some of the workers seemed a bit rude, which surprised me since I’m a regular. That was disappointing, but I’m hoping it was just an off day.

That said, the food is still really good. I highly recommend trying the chicken wings and fries—they’re definitely my favorites. The lounge has a great atmosphere with good music and late hours, so I still recommend checking it out to see how you like it for yourself.

There were 3 of us who sat down to eat. The table was visibly dirty. We ordered the fried pickles and they were too salty to eat. We all ordered the Cardinal burger. 2 of us received the meal at the same time. Our other friend waited an additional 30-40 minutes to receive his and that was after informing the waitress. At that point they asked for a box as we were finished with our meals. Waitress interacted with us very little and didn’t for apologize for the poor service.

As a black establishment there security goes after ppl when they walk away from situations, being the bigger person if you dress nice and over 6ft this is not the place to be.. my best friend got there phone stolen def won’t return. if I could give them negative stars I would. I met the owner before he was cool but the security he hires is trash they act like they the police!! They don’t even get down to the issue if something happen they rather come to the person being attacked, I tried to call they don’t answer they phone. club stinks and smells like a bad sewer you walk past in New York, the bartenders was good tho and made sting drinks. but overall establishmesnt trash. Especially being a black owned spot I felt like it would be more of a safe environment highly disappointed with the establishment and. Definitely security, I been trying call but of course no answer they draw a nice crowd but def need better security/ management/ ownership. Hopefully they return my call but this won’t change the status of the rating. Super Friendly staff and customers! great food! My server/bartender Chrissy was excellent!! Very affordable pricing. Awesome pictures, posters all around, Upstairs VIP area is really cool too! I didn't want to leave there....
100% will be back when im back in the Ville!!

Had such an amazing time at this establishment. Thursday's Karaoke night was top tier. The customer service was on point as well. Definitely recommend visiting if you're in town and/or local.
